This for all the fire Mario NOW crowd. Let me break down to you why our (fans) prayers and energy should be directed towards Mario having a self-reflection/come to Jesus moment versus Mario should and will be fired ASAP emotions.

Plain and simple Mario has complete institutional armor right now.

1) The President of the school (albeit before he was President) helped brought him here. Think about that for a moment.

2) The big money backers and boosters are tied to him.

3) Radakovich came here knowing it was a rebuild and I guarantee Mario told them that in the interview as well. Should they have believed it? Probably not. But the portal and quick turnaround was a little newer and it was less evidence in 2021.

4) The buyout. We know this school not coughing up a 40 million dollar buyout.

So as a fan base, we’ll be better served to “try”forcing him to make changes with adapting/evolving/running the program. That’s where I think strategically the pressure points are and where we as fans can force more change. And that doesn’t not mean just changing the coordinators. It means hiring smarter and better people and getting out of the way. That’s what successful CEOs do.

As more knowledgeable people have already said, and most of us/you know this man is not going anywhere anytime soon!

So downvote the post, put the vomit emojis or whatever. I’m just speaking once the emotions are calming down from my personal angle. You don’t have to like or agree.

Major reason why I never wanted Mario. Besides from his on field assness.

The powers that be will not hold him accountable
I think they will eventually. I just think right now they are all aligned on this is/was a long term build.

Now in 2025 the portal showed everyone it dont have to be that long. We are stuck!

That's now how this works, it maybe a higher threshold to fire him but Miami gets negative quite quickly. If he thinks he has plot armor like the star in a movie he must have been away too long. He will see 5 people at the game. He better make serious changes, this loss changed something that cant be quantified yet.

Good points

Zero accountability environment at Miami allows coaches to be egomaniacs.

Being responsible to no one is something that a lot of people can't handle.

Im surprised other people like Saban or Herbstreit don't reach out privately.

That's what would be needed. Someone Mario has infinite respect for and emulates to make him see the light.

Good points
It started when they asked Dawson about running inside and he went with his condescending smug answers. Then proceed to lay an egg. 2nd in 3 games. Next thing, there maybe more losses on the way. Every game is gonna be close if this is how we continue to play. It always happen in year 4. Shannon, Golden. Diaz it happened sooner because of the abomination v UNC at home.

Is it possible Mario would have a “Duty to Mitigate” clause, like James Franklin, meaning he’d have to make a good faith effort to find another job and reduce his buyout if fired?

You’re absolutely right. Yeah you might get some **** for posting this because people are justifiably emotional after losing the way we lost yesterday but this is the most logical approach going forward. Getting the torches and pitchforks out right now at 6-2 and #18 in the country is wasting energy. I fully understand people are ****ed. I know finishing 10-2 with a potential playoff berth is extremely unlikely, but stranger things have happened. I don’t think it’s time to give up on the season or Mario for that matter. Yeah he does a bunch of stuff I don’t like. That kneeling BS at the end of regulation drove me ape ****. No reason why we couldn’t take a couple shots there. So stupid and cowardly. But on the flip side, he did the same thing against Clemson in 2023 and it worked. That was a much better Clemson team and we were playing Emory Williams so take that into consideration. I STILL don’t agree with it.

If we lose to Syracuse Saturday I will retract my “wait and see” approach and not only get out my torch and pitchfork, but supply rotten vegetables for the entire fanbase to throw at the Hect. They might be the worst team in the ACC and are on their 3rd QB I believe. We should win by 40. And we should want to kick their asses after what happened last year..

‘Big Money’ and ‘backers’ aren’t dumb. Their money will soon flow elsewhere- they didn’t make their money by backing failures and they probably have already turned on Mario and are cutting their investment in this debacle.

If they really want the school to succeed, they are already looking at all options.

Personally, I say let the year play out and see where we are.
