Mario Cristobal, Your Seat is Officially Lukewarm

Looking back on the 2021 decision. People finally coming to the realization that Miami made the wrong hire when they could have had Lane. The detractors said Lane can't recruit but didn't have the foresight to realize this is a new era and NIL has changed the system. NIL has leveled the playing field and "recruiters" are devalued. The "Lane Train" crew realized that in this new era the Mario types (recruiter with no x/o acumen) will be less effective unless they hire good coordinaters AND let the coordinators implement their scheme. Lane would have brought the x/o's and he is doing more with less unlike the current regime. Sure the Columbus crew wouldn't have been all in at first but there are other bossters and people love to be associated with winners. Fast forward Lane is at the top of everyone's list and Mario is ... well... He's Mario.
Not going to be fun when he’s at UF holding the gun

Not making a long post. Obviously a lot of people have been out for a while now, but this loss should be a pretty resounding one.

4 Years, endless money at his disposal compared to predecessors.

0 ACCCG Appearances
0 CFP Appearances

Another loss as a double-digit favorite (opener).

12-10 against unranked opponents. 14-14 in conference play.

Undisciplined behavior, continuously wilting against inferior competition in the back end of the season.

He’s not getting fired now or next year. But the stove is on, that much is for **** sure. Vent away, gents. This + the refs is infuriating (even I’m now f the ACC refs).

We deserve better. Hopefully some of you see the reality now.

Why would we see the reality now if you just said Mario won’t get fired in 3 years minimum?? Three more 10 win seasons including this one then it would grow to another 6 yrs minimum before he’s fired right? So what is your point., you want the entire fan base to go ahead turn on the program so you can feel special?

If we finish the season with 10 wins

Considering you just made a thread saying you’re not blaming Mario, I think it’s best if you sit this one out champ.

I mean really? These guys are essentially walking into someone’s store, and yelling at patrons not to buy anything, and the store owner is supposed to be cool with it because they’re from you know where with some perceived notion of free speech on a private platform???

I’ll ban them on principle.

Save some for the new guys.

Complete blank check?

Imagine Lane calling plays and Heatherman on D, we’re undefeated and probably a top 2 team in the country.

But since Lane is taboo on here, I can name 30+ offensive minded HC’s that would cook up some good stuff with our NIL budget + hire a competent / elite DC. I just don’t have the breath to do so right now, and it’s all moot since Mario isn’t getting fired.

There are A LOT of good coaches in this sport that prepare well, scheme around deficiencies, and adapt to what’s going on in live time.
Why do we always end up with a HC that can't scheme around deficiencies? We passed on Lane in 2021 when he wanted to come here and we hired Mario. It’s amazing how bad we had to be to hire so many subpar coaches in a row. Coker, Shannon, Golden, richt, diaz, Mario. I mean its mind boggling that we couldn't manage the football program better than that. Not saying Mario cant change some of his ways moving forward but so far it doesn't look good.

I don't know what else to say. I am at a loss of words how bad this program has been the last 20 years and most of it is self inflicted.

14-14 in the ACC. Losses to Middle Tennessee State (I was there, at noon, hot as balls. Most miserable game I’ve ever been to).

Everything about the game day operations is abysmal.

I was just thinking about that play with Lightfoot and the late hit. A timeout was called by Mario on that 4th & 8. He said he called it because he wanted to see what the offense was coming out in formation wise. Do you think Heatherman needed a timeout there? No!!!! That was stupid Mario. To compound the error in judgement, because he’s so unsure of himself, he called the timeout super late. He could have called it earlier instead of treating it like a game winning FG situation. So he put his players in a situation to make that mistake.

The guy is a ******* idiot!!!
Was at the game and no one could hear the whistles blows. So unfortunate. Why call timeout? Let your defense finish off the series without interference from your insecurities!

Idk, maybe I still have some hope in the overarching picture, but I think the “Mario leaves and funding is gone” narrative is overblown.

Trump, Bezos, UHealth, Dana White aren’t just going to go away if he gets fired. Sure the Columbus guys might get upset, but powerful figures love attention and publicity. I guarantee they’re back in the saddle pretty quickly after.
