Love how he said he wasn’t trying to take a shot at the previous staff regarding the usage of the T.O & swiftly begins to take shots at them by highlighting how putrid we’ve been in certain categories while focusing on 2 secs w/ the T.O chain. Lol
 
A win over A&M or Clemson would put us ahead of our expectations for the future. An appearance in the conference championship along with the 23 class coming in Miami could “be back” sooner than later.
 
I'll say this, if Mario & Co, find a way to get TVD more protection and we can also find a way to have a halfway decent run game, we are going to be big trouble for the ACC, and yes that includes Clemson.

So that would put us at 20 and then there are a good bit of teams that are even with us

I can tell he respects Manny and that’s admirable but. I respect Mario more for calling a spade a spade without dragging peoples name in the mud.

Yes but only 2 of those teams has a QB even close to TVD; Bama and OSU.
a QB in football has such outsized value. I will give you an example. Would you rather have a question mark at WR and LB, or QB?
I will take the former because a really good QB can overcome the shortcomings of so many other positions.

I would also argue that we have 1 NFL cornerback and 1 NFL offensive tackle right now.

You can say that for every team. Not all will turn out, that’s WHY it’s good to be on this list.

Talent ≠ success, but Miami’s team last year was talented - just young and undeveloped. Make no mistake, you’ll see with some proper development what some of these guys actually are made of.

It is ALWAYS better to be on this list than to not be.

Agree a good QB is important but it doesn't mean a lot if you don't got the trenches. If we lined up against the Georgia,Bama,Ohio State and even to a lesser extent Wisconsin,Iowa, Kentucky and LSU, I got a feeling they would line up and punch us in the mouth. Fortunately that will probably only be for the next year or two because help is on the way

I mean the program was winless before he got there and he got them their first winning season and a conference championship. Dude had a much bigger challenge there with far less support than he does here, and made it work. And then AFTER that he proceeded to work with Saban in his operation and made his mark in the PAC, where I have no doubt he’d have had a playoff contender in 1-2 years.

Now he’s in the best place for him with the most resources that have ever been committed to his finger tips.

Mario gives excellent interview. No doubt about it.

I do have one question though, with all the talentless hacks at ESPN and other sports oriented outlets, why isn’t Roy Firestone more visible now, like he was a couple of decades ago?

See I get when u guys say this I get it and I understand. But but but.......just like in the NFL when your roster is sort of ok u can lose games to teams with inferior talent on paper. U can play a 4-12 team and your OL can't block this 4-12 squad which affects the outcome of a game. This is why it's been tough for us having weaker fronts some teams like UNC can run all day on us and we can take an L. No pass rush vs FSU and their trash QB wins the game.

This is why I can't wait for the roster turn over when the elites come. Cause it will rarely happen when we stack on fronts. We will clean up ACC comp easily. Big game hunting fellas watch n witness it.
