I don’t think that narrative can be dispelled until he actually runs an offense that is not predicated mainly on the run game.
So far that has not happened in any of his years at a HC anywhere.
How many times do you people have to spew this dumbass ****? It's mind-numbing.
How many times did UGA throw the ball last year? How many times did Ohio State? Michigan? Mr. Air Raid himself at TCU???
What is this fascination with thinking the only way you can be a good football team is to throw the ball 60 times a game? When did this dumbassery start? I really don't understand it. Nobody is capable of putting any actual thought into what you see on Saturday? Or I guess you don't actually watch the games? I'm truly baffled.
Here, I'll help you and everyone else out:
TCU's Max Duggan, the dude running Sonny Dykes' wide-open offense, with the magical run this year where every week was a shootout, blah blah blah, averaged 27.9 passes per game last year. That was good for 69th most in the country. TCU threw the football 419 times last season. They ran the football 566 times.
And it wasn't because all the games were blowouts. They played a fantastic game vs Kansas St in the regular season, where they were LOSING at home at the half by a score of 28-17. They won the game 38-28. In that game, they ran the football FIFTY-SIX TIMES, and Duggan threw it 26 times.
Let's peek at some of the other schools:
CJ Stroud threw it 29.9 times per game. 55th most in America. In the 5 games vs FBS competition that he actually started and finished, Tyler ******* VanDyke averaged 41 passes per game. Miami threw it more than Ohio State!! And you dummies sit here all ******* day and say "bro style, Mario only runs the ball, 3 yards and a cloud of dust, wah wah wahhhh". Stop being braindead and actually think about what you're seeing. Stetson Bennett didn't average 30 passes a game. Neither did JJ McCarthy. Neither did the kid at Penn State, who won a Rose Bowl.
Enough with this stupid ***, repetitive nonsense you guys **** out of your mouths here every single day.
