Mario called out the team

Look, this is my opinion and just that. If you don't like it, take your green *** walking. The coaches try. I don't know anyone making the money these coaches make thinking it is a cake walk. These players, at the end of the day, are the ones playing on the field. A case of the fumbles cam be blamed on coaching if you want and if you are desperate to blame someone, but that is a player thing.
I was always taught grown up that if you are going to do something, you do it to the best of your ability.

This team, despite poor coaching and whatnot, does not push themselves to test their limits. I dont give a **** if your coach is trash. I've been under bad leadership before. That didnt stop me from pushing myself to my absolute limits and then some. It takes a mentally weak individual to see mediocrity and be satisfied with it. And that is what I see when I watch our kids play. Ok with being mediocre. There are a few that arent, but that is the minority.

I don't know what it will take to change these boys, but we need players that don't settle for the mediocrity in the room and we need a majority of those other try hard players. I still love Miami and will bleed orange and green until I die despite the record. I hope to see some accountability from the ones giving their all and soon.

Yeah they were blitzing! If they continue to bring 6-7 guys and we only block with 5 of course they will have free rushers!!! It’s on the coaches to keep a TE or RB to help block it! Instead we just kept blocking it with 5 lmao!! You block it from the inside out! That’s absolutely on the coaches!!
We didn't even block 5.

Some of our issues resides in the fact that Mario has an old school offensive mentality, and the man running our defense… is just old. He (Mario) wants to win games 24-14. The problem here is that with these modern offenses, it’s hard as **** to keep teams under 24pts. Even ****** teams can score that. With Mario and Gattis, if we can’t keep ny99as under 28, we probably losing that game. Hopefully he can turn this thing around… and if he can’t, have enough nuts to make the necessary changes going forward.

Couldn’t care less, any player let another player run over you and quit might as well leave
Exactly. The effort yesterday was just flat out embarrassing. He was right to call the team out. Hopefully there are guys on the team who take a long hard look in the mirror.

I can count maybe 5 guys (Mesidor, Colbie and Darrell Jackson come to mind immediately) that I would care if they left and all of them are transfer portal in guys.

We’re not banning people for simple criticism. Look at this thread.

Your August 30th ban was system generated. Only the first of those infractions was related and it was for a false statement made about Steele’s employment record. Then you had two more unrelated to it including one on that ridiculous OT board you frequent concerning Russia and another where you were talking about a certain poster’s sexuality.

You weren’t an anti-Mario victim but we know…

@JD08 @No_Fly_Zone @JeddTheFisch Full Videla whenever you’re ready.
Not arguing with you in anyway. I understand what that post means.

Haven't even really been messing with the off topic lately. Very little.

I remember getting banned after criticizing marios hires. I also dont attack people for their sexuality.

I never made a false statement about steele. Even if i did how does that break any rule?

Coaching isn’t as big as an issues as these players.

Well, if you say it, it must be true.

Surely the offensive coaches aren’t responsible for our starting QB going from a potential NFL 1st rounder to just another ACC dude and our highly touted backup turning into Jake Plummer circa 1999.

No sir-ee. All the players fault!

Yep. Ask anyone solely blaming the players and they can’t answer why the same players from last year who looked better, now look worse.

It’s a pretty common trait to ignore that factual statement.

TrumpyCane wants to know at what point do you stop blaming players and blame the coaching staff making millions of dollars?

At what point does Mario look himself in the mirror and see the kind of offense he wants to run just isn’t going to cut it

When’s he going to look at his S&C staff and see this is the 2nd year in a row his team gutted with injuries?

This is more coaching than players...yes, we need a better team of players that are tougher and possess greater football IQ, but the coaching being given is downright abysmal. The coaches should be elevating the players, making them better and that has not happened to a single player this season. It's a shame what has happened at The U. From the outside looking in, Mario hired "Name" coaches that have not jelled as a staff.

#Failure

It’s on the coaching staff. How can Duke have a completely new staff and they can get their players to buy in and play hard but this Miami staff that costs 4 times as much can not?

If players are really the excuse Mario then clean house this offseason. Have everyone pushed to the portal even if they’re 5 stars. Get ‘your guys’ and then there is no **** excuses

That was the quote I pointed out in the game thread after halftime. Mario’s evaluation and response was “we need to establish the run”. By the way, how’s you like the run the clock play calling right before half?
I mentioned this in my chat group at the time. I said we're screwed when I heard the "establish the run" comment. Also, I wasn't in the game thread but I can only imagine the comments made regarding that disgusting offensive display to end the half. As I said in my group chat, we got the ball at the 36 yard line with 2:04 left and we didn't cross the 50 yard line until there were only 50 seconds left on the clock while running a two minute offense. It took us over a minute to go twenty yards. Un-freaking-believable.

Well statisctially the defense is much better in 2022 than 2021. Not saying it's elite, but better at sacks, yards per game, and tackling. Last years defense was pathetic.

The offense in red zone is much much worse.

Yards per game is actually fairly similar, they just can't score.

I would say special teams is better this year too.

But team creates a new way to lose.

Texas A&M red zone offense was pathetic, and the muffed punt.

MTSU early turnovers by TVD then explosive plays allowed on back end.

UNC early coverage bust then late turnovers by Rooster and TVD's rushed INT.

Duke turnovers turnovers turnovers.
