I'm a ******* idiot then. 57-57 record as head coach doesn't impress me at all. I don't care if he can sign every 5 star in the nation. If you can't coach then it doesn't matter.. He is a experiment. That's NOT what we need
He is an alumni who has some pretty big wins under his belt at an inferior program. Would be the best hire Miami has made since butch davis. Beggera can’t be choosers and this guy has what it would take to put Miami back on the map. Staff plays into this obviously but he would be such a great blend between leader and letting kids know where the Miami hurricanes Should be on the national level. If you don’t see that I would guess you have never seen the Miami hurricanes as a national power because you are too young or you really think urban myer is quitting jax to come coach at Miami. With all that said who would you rather Miami have come coach this team? I’m want to hear realistic suggestions.

Going to be honest about a couple of things:

1. I’m not crazy high on Mario. That being said he’d be the best coach we’ve had since Butch, pretty easily.

2. Anthony Brown is not a good QB. This team was going to lose a game because of him.

3. The penalties on Stanford’s game tying drive were borderline insane. All 3 of them.

Hold up..you think Oregon is “inferior” to Miami??

Urban or Saban

Depends on the options
Mario will be able to get better talent at Miami than he will ever get at Oregon. He knows this plus he is a Miami guy, former OL at Miami, will instill toughness and more discipline at UM which we need desperately. He knows how to recruit snd develop talent. Figure out the $$$ to make it happen, it's a no brainer.

He’s had multiple 10 classes at Oregon..you think he brings in a top 5 class annually at Miami?

I am a big Mario guy. I understand the skepticism and the realistic issues. I think his pros outweigh his cons and to be truthful we would be lucky for him to even pick up the phone. With that said, I don’t understand these reductive takes. There are posters saying he’s an experiment like he hasn’t won 3 conference titles? Or that he’s a .500 coach like he didn’t inherit a team that never had a winning record before he took over? Can we at least be nuanced about it? 😂

Think he will not bring in anything worse than top 10. Only bama and Georgia bring in top 5 every year and if we start winning consistently could see that too,
Your basing this off what he’s done at Oregon..who has more resources than Miami
On all levels. Conference, national prestige, and recruiting territory. Think this is pretty obvious stuff. Nike is all they have
Prestige? Conference? Recruiting territory? Oregon has the resources to recruit anywhere they want. Matter of fact I’d argue they have huge advantages in that west coast northern west coast region..they are the big fish is a really big pond out there..we are 1 of 3 big fish in a small fertile pond..problem is EVERYONE Knows it. Everyone prioritizes Southflorida and the south East now..It’s not a given. Mario is not a lock to turn this around to win at the level this Fanbase expects imo..and if he had lost to a team like Stanford with top 5 Miami squad..he’d get killed for it. Especially with the way he managed the clock and the undisciplined play in the last 4 min

☝🏾This guy knows a thing or two.

This is exactly why I laugh at these people who say David isn't a good coach. No other P5 team, outside of Notre Dame, has to deal with those restrictions. There's a reason why NFL teams came after Shaw twice. To do what he has at Stanford is impressive.
I definitely wouldn't mind him here. I like Shaw.

But I think Freeze would kill it here, too. Always been a big fan of his.
