It's been reported multiple times that the school has not contacted Mario and he isn't a serious candidate. The only people linking him to the job are lazy journalist that list the same four Miami guys.

This is beautiful. It's great to see there are still UM fans around that want this program to be great again and aren't afraid to voice their opinion.

To anyone who feels it's classless, go fck yourself. We've had three bad hires in a row. We're in the unique position where a quality coach can bring this program back to the top, and rather soon. There is no chance that Mario is that coach and given the ineptitude of UM's Athletic Department, I fully support initiatives like this.

Even IF that were true (it isn't), what makes you think he's a good talent evaluator? Assistant coaches do the bulk of the selling to recruits. Wario's alleged salesmanship skills aren't fully utilized as the head man. What's more important is his evaluation ability, and I don't have much reason to believe he's good at it.

The point is that all these guys are only as good as the staff they have. So, unless the university is willing to pay to assemble a top staff, we re gonna be stuck with the same results. I think that is a major obstacle for mario.

This fanbase did not become this way overnight. The program, ever since about 2005, has slowly been sucked into a black hole of oblivion. Idiot hires, incompetent admin, Shapiro, etc. Ten years of bad decisions and irrelevance have brought us to this point.

With the Golden hire, and the ridiculousness that the fans have put up with (especially on the defensive side of the ball), the fans did not make the program toxic. The program was already toxic, and certain fans have chosen to voice their opinion to the public. That is their right to do so.

Don't like the banners? Fix the program. Build a winner. It CAN be done, with the right coach.

I've talked about this with family who are devout Hurricane fans, and think this is true: this is the most important period of Miami Hurricanes. We were at the point of no return when Schnelly came to town. If don't get this hire right, the program will be in oblivion.
