Mario + Alonzo

Mario would bring in the recruits, instill toughness into this program, and change the entire culture of the program through expectations and accountability.
I always liked Mario..I liked him over Golden In 2011..but y’all playing a lot of revisionist history. Miami fans thought of him as a corch..BUt it’s not happening

The thing is.........I could easily see why Mario would leave Oregon to go to the school he loves, that’s not hard to understand on the surface. The issue is the ******** running the asylum currently and what can be done or would be willing to be done to remove them.

Why is everyone so high on Highsmith as AD? Not being a smartass but the Packers drafted poorly and didn’t spend well in free agency while he was there

Because hes a respected NFL exec that's actually willing to help turn this program around. Hes qualified and has NFL connections that could lead to a reasonable future HC hire. He should, theoretically, be able to help push this program to a least winning the coastal and add some structure to this program. More than anything, he doesnt need UM and can give his superiors (BOT, Admin) honest feedback on what it will take to have a Top 10 program again. We currently have 2 people leading our program who are both learning on the job. As well as a staff of coaches learning on the job. And we are getting 'learning on the job' results. We have 5 national championships man!!

I think we are desperately in need of an actual football guy foreseeing the direaction on this program instead of a former ESPN analyst who depends way too much on analytics and a fundraiser who doesnt hold his subordinates to any standard unless they are being beat by Clemson 58-0.

Miami prestige >>> Oregon

HAHAAHAA!! You must not have watched either team play for the last 13 years. Oregon competed for 2 National Titles. How many bowl games has Miami won vs. Oregon's bowl wins?

I have a question. If Manny goes 10-2 next year, is competitive with Clemson in the acccg, and win a NY6 bowl will y'all still want him gone? It's just a question. If he did that I'm riding with Manny. The truth is even though I'm mad about where things stand I'd much rather see Manny turn things around thank go 6-6 again.

Oh yeah, after listening to the Wide Right Pod I change my mind on the Zo situation. Even If we offer the job to him I don't think he take it. We have a better chance of getting him if we fire Blake and make Zo AD. It's all a pipe dream. I don't see Manny turning it around but I hope he does.

Ever hear the saying that a guy who builds a million bridges but sucks one d!ck isn't known to the world as a bridge builder, he's known as a pole smoker?

Thats Manny Diaz in a nutshell. Forever the coach who lost to fiu.

I doubt any of this ever comes to fruition, but could you imagine how many players he’d cut his first spring ball? We might play his first season with like 50 dudes.

Why would alonzo still be hired if Mario somehow came? Manny dont want to answer to someone else why would Mario? Better chance Mario comes back in 5 or 6 years after next bad coach hire that is made. At that point Oregon will probably want Mario gone for not winning a title and everyone on board will be ****ed when they pursue Mario.

You mean why would Cristobal go to work for a program that has an athletic director like every other school?
But is Zo coming in to be AD? That’s one thing, and quite logical. Or is he “GM of football operations”, which for the colleges that have this position is a role lesser than that of the HC?

Exactly my point. Thank you

Why would Mario leave Oregon where he has complete control of football operations to come to Miami where he would be second to Alonzo?
I don’t get it, why would u all think that Mario is going to come here and let Highsmith call the shots ? Mario will only come if he has all power

One would hope some of the dead weight would come to life as Mario instilled toughness. The players would respect Mario, especially the OL. Assuming he’d bring OL coach with him, they would start getting first-rate coaching. Not everyone would ‘get it’, but some would and Miami would go from there.

Why is Mario's name being mentioned so often lately? Is it really smoke behind this or is this just wishful thinking?.... Legit asking.

So you're saying Blake has an opportunity to hire Mario/Alonzo but he probably won't but if he doesn't he knows he's probably gonna be shown the door with Manny sooner than later? Just trying to get the gist here.
