Mario + Alonzo

It’s not happening, nothing in Blake James’s makeup even suggests he could make this happen or be willing to take the risk of them not coming (for no other reason than not to wanting to be near a program he’s the AD of) after firing the guy he hand picked after one year..........which would warrant his immediate termination. Both Diaz and James need to ******* go before anything else remotely improves so it would probably be best to stop getting hopes up on fantasies.

And by not happening I mean at least for another year........being proactive doesn’t seem to be in the nature of this program.

Alonzo situation has created major firestorm internally.

Manny could be fired to bring in Mario and Alonzo in a package deal. Major uncertainty right now is Mario's willingness to participate in such a scenario but his admiration for Alonzo should make details easy to work out.

Unfortunately, Blake doesn't have the balls to make this a no brainer but he's being pushed.
Why would Mario leave Oregon where he has complete control of football operations to come to Miami where he would be second to Alonzo?

Big question that would need to be ironed out

But the respect between Mario and Alonzo leads me to believe they could figure it out

Let's face it; that relationship would function differently simply because Mario is far more experienced as a coach... It would most likely be more of a mentor type relationship where Alonzo could function as the "bad guy" if needed...

Respect between 2 Columbus grads, former Canes who helped lead their teams to national champions

Because a majority of this board lives in fantasy land. Multi million dollar buyouts are also nothing to any of these guys, because it isn't their money.

You mean why would Cristobal go to work for a program that has an athletic director like every other school?
Bingo

Alonzo would essentially take on the roll of a true AD so Blake can keep up with his tea party luncheons

We not pulling Mario RN. It’s a Miami fan pipe dream..Oregon is a college destination job

I would love Mario here but I would have serious concerns about his mental health if ever decides or even considers coming here with the current circus lead by the BOT( Epstein) and Flake James As a fellow Alum , I wish him much success at Oregon Very happy he won the PAC 12 and Rose Bowl
