Big part of the problem is the wrong people have the power in the BOT overriding the other faction that want to right this ship.

Blake James doesn’t want to bring in Highsmith as a authority figure because he knows it could cost him his job if Highsmith has success. I’ve dealt with insecure individuals like this and they’ll do anything to protect themselves over others. Furthermore, James is another political zombie in the Hect Center. The thought of him thinking outside of the box to establish an opportunity to elevate this Football program isn’t an option for him. He’s riding the Diaz wave. They’ll drown together. **** them both.
 
Miami is a massive sleeping giant just waiting to be awoken once again.... theres a lot of people in college football that know this.

It just takes the right coach.

Butch did it once....

Richt almost did it in 2017...

What James doesnt see is that by bringing in Highsmith it actually will make him look good. James can running the athletic dept and keep doing what he does well which is fund raise.

Football starts winning and everything picks back up and James looks like a genius for hiring Zo

For that to happen Blake has to be fired. I maybe see this scenario playing out next year if the bottom falls out again. At that point between the Manny hire and Enos hire Blake and Manny have combined to cost the university millions. Can't continue to bleed money like that with little or no returns. At least most of the BOT are business people and understand money and profit.

Maybe by next year Oregon has a bit of a drop off and Highsmith is an NFL scout willing to come in a more AD type role for football.

It's still possible but not now.
 
If I'm Mario I'm going to try and make a run with Oregon. The way he recruits he'd be nuts to come back now.

We need a complete organizational overhaul. I don't see us winning how things stand now. But maybe we get lucky and Manny gets the team to play winning ball lol. Even when we fire Manny next season we will have a hard time filling the position unless we move on from Blake as well imo.

He's so all Miami that he left within a month of being rehired for Alabama. I am not debating that there wasn't a strong "business decision" most would make, but rather pointing out that Mario knows a better situation when he sees one, even if it means saying no to Miami.
 
Mario just entered a price range UM will never meet. And, according to some reliable posters, Blake isnt a fan of Mario from his short time with Golden. Our 'culture issue' goes wayyyy passed the players!

Guys like Diaz and Blake dont want people like Mario and Zo anywhere near them when its comes to football related decisions.

I’m convinced Mario will be the one. If we have to endure one more torturous year to have those two come, so be it.
