They started it and it became an issue.

Mario was silent about the issue until he was asked on the record in a press conference--at that point he has to either condone it or make a stand against it.

It is not appropriate for parents to be tweeting criticisms about their children's coaches. They instead should be talking directly with the coaching staff to resolve the issues. That is how you handle things respectfully and maturely.

They didn't do that, he was asked about it, and he respectfully stated his opinion on the matter. That doesn't make him a hypocrite. Huge reach on your part.

Consider this example: You generally don't support using violence to resolve conflict (I don't). You wouldn't hit someone because you're mad at them (I wouldn't), but someone punches you in the face. Are you going to let this person hit you in the face or are you going to hit them back? I would hit that **** back immediately lmao!

Yeah, because coaches never deflect or avoid questions at press conferences….
 
Having coached parents will always be a problem, players will talk at home to vent and then Mom or Dad get carried away. Somethings should stay in the family and a recruits family becomes the team.

He motherfvcking RESPONDED to a question from the press corps, and the question was based on certain parents who STARTED the process of publicly talking about something that is an inherently private discussion.

And even if it was "old style" press conference style, everything makes it to video these days. If Mario refused to answer a question from the press, he's "ducking the press". If he praised the parents who whine on social media, he's "letting the inmates run the asylum". And if he stood up and said that parents whining on social media is not going to be tolerated, you accuse him of being a "tough guy".

This thread is pretty amusing to me 'cos I put that guy on ignore years ago so I can't read half of it. Their schtick was terrible, it was clear they had nothing to contribute to the board.

Absolutely not. Coaches do not respond to parents' complaints about playing time. This isn't 10U anymore.

Mario should not have to cover his decisions with parents who have no idea what is happening on the team. The player should handle their business. Parents should stay the **** away unless invited by Mario...period.

WTF ... he was ASKED on camera during an interview. He didn't "complain". He was asked a question, and he responded. You really expect the HC to take time out from his over worked week ... to go visit the parents of every player on the roster to give them an update?
