Mario Addresses Disgruntled Parents

Earned the right ? It could’ve been a homeless meth addict saying it and they’d still be right. If you have issues with somebody in an organization talk to them straight up like a grown adult. Not running to social media acting like a teenager. It’s sad behavior. Talk to the coaches , if you don’t like the conversation go elsewhere. It’s needless drama.
THIS!!! ****, anyone that's a Head Coach or the leader of any organization has EARNED the right. TF?! If you don't like the way things are ran in said organization.... you have the right to "haul ***".

Weeding out the rot from this roster one player at a time. No idea who it was but if you quit this late in the season, see yah.

And some of y’all have the audacity to say the roster and culture isn’t a problem lol. Manny kissed their a$$, Mario brought out the chancla

Culture is a problem but as crabby says there is a toxic culture between the coaches too hence multiple firings

Or how about stay out of it? Their children are grown men in college, not boys in high-school. Give them guidance privately, but they don't need mommy & daddy fighting their battles publicly.

I think I agree by I don’t know what “obdurate” means
Can I have it in a sentence, Alex?

“I obliterated that pvssy back in my college days!”

Wait…… my bad. Wrong word!! I need to Google that one.

In HS and even on JV I never ran home crying to mommy and that was back in the time coaches could actually be hard as **** on players. Looking back I’m glad I didn’t.

Wasn't as harsh as the headline, firstly.

I agree with his conclusion 100%, but meh on his reasoning. No one cares if that's how most of us were raised. Obviously, most of us didn't even have the internet or cell phones. Wish it'd just be about "because that's how we best develop young people for what they need" instead of "this is how my parents or coach in the 80s did it."

But, whatever. If Mario sets expectations, and the player or parents don't like X and don't want to address X conflict directly, I think whoever doesn't like it can GTFO. Coach, player, anyone. That's just good leadership.

Whether it works or not (and I think developing these skills in young people works!), not sure how anyone can fault him for the attempt to develop humans while he presumably develops them as football players. Ideally, we'll attract more players/families who want to be part of an environment of development.

By all means, everyone who isn't on board walk the fug out! The sooner, the better. It'll get us a relevant result sooner. This includes Gattis, but that's just my opinion. ha.

Lol Mario is 100% right but I wonder how many ppl saying he's right said the same about Ed Reed when he was putting up cryptic tweets seemingly about the prior staff.

Someone has to know who was the player who walked off. My conspiracy dots are connecting I would bet it was a highly rated DB.

My post from the other day...

I can tell you, and again this was a much smaller scale and in baseball. But when a player committed I would ask to be put on speaker phone and we would enjoy the moment. But I said from this point forward anything non financial aid related goes through your son. Part of my job is making sure he becomes a young man and he needs to take care of things himself. Playing time...you come to me. We can talk. You may not like what you hear but it will be honest...and who knows maybe you can point something out to me. I only have one set of eyes.

Unfortunately small college AD's are starting to give in more and more to parents on basically non issues. Big school I imagine its a dream as you can just tell people to get lost.

See this is my problem. Either the positon is accurate or it is not. Not everything depends on wins and losses.
I understand the assertion made by @nystateofmind because we're in a different climate with kids and parents but I'd still end up siding with you about this philosophy can't be predicated on wins and "earning the right".

Because how would that actually work sequentially? You humor any disgruntled parent or "mentor" until one day you've had enough success and can tell them to "f off"? Well at that point humoring them has obviously worked for you so then why even change your philosophy?
