Mario’s turtle ball

Too many penalties
That was the issue

It cost us another TD
W the motion penalty

Couple on the D kept drives alive and asssited FSU

I actually think it’s a good thing

If we blow out FSU completely the team may get ahead of itself

This game has A LOT of coaching opportunities in it to get better

I’m happy w win, dissatisfied w ending but optimistic w ROS

Mario did nothing last night that I haven't seen Saban or Smart do a million times its just their players executed the strategy and didnt have dumb drive killing penalties. Literally almost every great coach you name would start trying to run the clock out up 28-3 going into the 4th quarter. The difference is the execution, our players for whatever reason have a bad habit of going into a mental shell once we get up two scores or more both offense and defense. Im not the biggest fan of Mario's coaching but I blame this on the players more than coaching.

Missing the forest for the trees...

We've been waiting 20 years to have a team that can compete with anyone in the Country, and some folks are nitpicking misc issues. We have the roster + coaching staff. Not sure how this season ultimately shakes out but we've arrived. Enjoy it.

We were conservative late because that’s what guaranteed us a road win. You guys panicking are overreacting. We are going to win a lot of games this year..
Being conservative late got FSU down only 6 points with a chance to get the ball back, wouldn't say that "guarunteed us a road win"

He doesn’t call the plays. Offense or defense. I am sure he and every one of us thought we should slow the game down once we got up 28-3 but what that looks like depends on Dawson and our execution. We could also blame him for the defense why not?

I am sure if Dawson elected to run a safe rpo on 2nd and 7 for instance Mario is not in his headset telling him no. I am also sure both of them wanted to lengthen the game. But I don’t know exactly why ineffective calls and execution down the stretch get foisted onto Cristobal unilaterally.

Bottom line, Mario’s turtling gives teams hope, and that’s a dangerous thing that will bit us one day.

Not sure why Mario decides that his opponent is the clock instead of the other team on the field. It’s a wild thing to watch over and over.

It’s like his teams black out completely at times and forget their is opponent on the field and only play to survive the clock.

I am extremely ciritcal of the 4th quarter, but this narrative of blaming Mario for everything that went on doesn't seem well-founded.

You'd need a **** of a lot more information regarding what coaches discussed.

Additionally, players were not executing at all. You simply cannot allow 3 4th down conversions on a single drive. You cannot pick up so many stupid penalties.

Officiating was abominable.
