Funny how many of our fans still low-key sh*tting on Finley. Leading up to last season almost no one gave him a shot in **** of starting at Striker over Derrick Smith. Come Fall of 2018 and Finley grades out as one of our most productive and best defenders on a snap by snap basis. Now Frierson (whom I think has big time potential) moves to Striker and Finley is about to lose the job all over again according to some fans.
My reading the tea leaves indicates that Finley will be the starting Striker this year and has proven enough to expand his role to rotational Safety duty, as needed/earned. If Frierson is up to the task, that will allow coaches to play them both a lot more with Finley at both Striker and Safety and Frierson at Striker exclusively (largely in packages where Finley may be used at Safety/Dime). If that works well, look for Frierson's RS SO year to look a lot like Finley's senior year, with an expanded role to include rotational duty at the safety position.
