I like beating the ACC champs on the road and throwing for 3 TD a game. Not getting blown out at home by Duke, MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE, FSU, etc ...

So going from 6-7 to 8-3 is improving, correct? What happens when a coach goes from 8-3 to 7-5? Is that still improving?

I mean the guy went 6-6, then 7-5 ALL UNDER A CLOUD, just to go 9-4 in yr 3! But, then he went 6-7, but, but, but, but never mind that; he was a winning coach going 32-25 in 4.5 yrs or, well wouldn’t u know, avg. 7-5/yr.

cherry pick this...dIAZ won 1 more game in his 3rd year as HC than his first year. 1 ***ing game with basically all his players. His dEFENSE declined every year.

Maybe Shannon should have been given more time because he WAS improving. Maybe Golden got run off too soon. I was for firing Golden after Clemson but before that I was open to giving him a chance to build the program. Nobody's win trajectory will be a an arrow going straight up forever.L-O-L

Shannon literally got criticized by this fanbase for not showing enough emotion after touchdowns! WTF?? You have to be actively looking for reasons to hate somebody to allow that to be any factor in your coaching criticism. Do you really think our fans gave him a fair look? Nah! Our fans have NEVER been fair!
But many are demanding fairness today for some reason.

This board only functions at extremes, especially in its interpretations.
No one is claiming that Manny's teams were any good, because they weren't. The 2019 team crapped the bed @ Clemson with an embarrassingly bad game plan and then fell apart entirely against UNC, which invariably happens at least once a season with that defense.
Now, somehow, Mario has not only managed to say, "Hold my beer," but has very likely lowered the floor beyond what you can simply blame, "on the last guy."
He needs his own guys; needs top notch coordinators; the players have to execute; this is Manny's team...
All of these things are true but they are not limitless. An $8 million head coach needs to evaluate what he has on the roster and run whatever the **** it is he has to in order to win football games this season.
You can make the changes you need as you recruit but the way this team is being coached is an abomination and confirms every single piece of crap data point on him that gave anyone pause.
Manny recruited poorly in a lot of areas and a lot better in others. Most of us could have called out that the strength of the team is the QBs. Hire the most QB friendly OC you can and coach up a few kids to support that.
He hired an offensive coordinator whose pass concepts are terribly spaced, require a lot of timing and the type of reads maybe 25% of college quarterbacks are capable off game-to-game. They fly 100% in the face of what your QB1 has demonstrated to do well.
Say what you want about Enos. He was a tone-deaf stubborn guy who thought he was the smartest guy in the room, but there were moments of competence and he did light some people up. He sucked against others, too, but.... you know what? He at least score a **** TD in those games.
If you look at the recruiting rankings of both Richt's and Manny's last classes, it is clear as day that this team won't be that competitive, portal or no portal, BUT THE MAN HAS MADE THEM HISTORICALLY BAD. That is on him. There is no debate. None.
We have not scored a TD in nine weeks, 9 weeks! We let up multiple 50 yard+ TDs against a G5 team. I don't know who the last team that did that was, but if you look them up, I promise you we have more talent than they did. It is inexcusable for any coach, at any time.
So, yeah, acknowledging that neither of them are any good.... Manny > Mario if for no reason other than Mario should mother****ing know better!

we knew what we had so a change was necessary. the risk of failing again shouldn't stop you from doing things that are failing
mario still has time, although it's not looking good. That doesn't change the fact that it was a good decision to move on from manny however

Man if you don’t get that lispy **** out my face. **** is bad, but if you offered me what we have now or Manny again, I’d much rather see where this goes. Manny doesn’t get a $100MM facility built. Manny had a class in the 50’s and doesn’t get a call back from any of these top kids. We’d be getting drug with Manny at the helm this season too. Dude is a bum. Do better.
