Meh.

Duke is 1-7 in conference play, has played once since 11/7. and are 17 point underdogs. We should win with no excuses. Maybe we don't cover, but it shouldn't come down to the last drive either.

North Carolina already had Western Carolina scheduled for this week and Miami on the books next week.

No reason to move Heels / Canes back to the 5th, as it'd ***** up the game with the Catamounts—which ends Western Carolina's season.

And will pay for West Car's entire season to play that game.

The main reason Duke was available was due to the semenholes cancelling. If not for that and other schedule considerations, UNC would have been the most logical choice.

Conference games trump non conference games. If FSU were able to play Duke this week, more than likely we'd be playing UNC this week. That scenario had been kicked around. Fortunately, it worked out for us.

Yep. We couldn't have gotten a better scenario with playing Duke this week given the Covid situation. We're at our weakest, but we're playing one of the weakest teams in the conference.

Preserves the bodies. Nothing better after months of crashing into other humans. We'll be rested and ready (physically) for this final 3-game stretch with a possible invite to the CFP on the line.
