I’m not happy about baker, but this isn’t a G5 defensive staff. We have a top three secondary coach in TROB. A DLine coach who is well regarded with NFL coaching experience. DVD is an up and comer who has already proven to be a great recruiter who can now learn under TROB. Patke has done a nice with our strikers, his recruiting is suspect, but I don’t hate keeping him. Last year was a G5 staff. We’ve improved, just not as much as we could have.

Well, he will live or die with this decision. The biggest boondoggle is keeping Blake and letting him have the DC title. It's wasted money, and a wasted opportunity. I hope for the best, but this is legitimately deflating.

Happy about Simpson coming back, but stroud was a better recruiter. So DL is a wash.

We upgraded Rumph and Banda to TRob/DVD.

And baker is staying, the biggest travesty of it all.

Manny couldn't get any of the guys he wanted apparently.

Welp this is his *** going into next year , I’m cool either way. He’s going out on his terms, so he better win next year. If not he’ll have two years left on his deal after the season with no extension =“ dead man walking”. This is a win win in my book.

Most fans are insufferable. The Hurricanes obviously tried to get certain coordinators who ended up taking jobs elsewhere. Most of you thought MD was a good defensive coordinator until he became a HC. He obviously does not want Blake calling the defense based on what he has seen and he thinks this is the next best thing after not being able to get the guys he went after. Either he succeeds or he doesn't. Time will tell. Everything else is just obnoxious noise.

For Baker, it has to be financial at this point. Maybe he moves along next season. I'm just trying to wrap my head around this.

Simpson was coaching the Falcons defensive line last year.

T-Rob has been coaching in the SEC for years.

I’m not a fan of the route we took, but your point makes no sense.

So essentially Manny is banking on recreating the 2018 defense, but now with a capable offense and some better coaching in the secondary but worse linebacker play.

He's sealing his fate, one way or the other.
