Manny will call Plays in 2021, Jess Back as DL Coach

But not surprising. Manny doesn’t have cachet with coaches like that and no established or up and coming coordinator is coming to hitch their wagon to Manny. They see what we see

I'm fine with Simpson coming back. Even good with DVD as CB coach as it gets him on the trail and I'd imagine that he's acting as an assistant to T-Rob. Baker's the big disappointment. I don't know how he held onto his job.

Manny choosing to still call plays shows me he didn't get the big picture. It's extremely difficult to be a successful HC (CEO-type) and also being deeply involved on one side of the ball.

If manny does well this year he will get an extension and likely be able to bring in a big name at defensive coordinator. I would’ve liked to get a new one this year but we cannot change it

Na I think it means only 1 more year of Baker. I’d imagine they treat coaching hires like they do the portal. Don’t wanna bring in a guy just to bring in a guy. Gotta be a true fit and positive impact.

I don’t mind it. Diaz isn’t scapegoating and taking on the challenge himself. Lashlee has the O so really can stick with the D. Simpson is a technician and very likable. DVD CB coach is surprising but must be some real trust and recruiting ties they don’t want to break.

Manny tried for 3 big names and then gave up on doing an actual coaching search for a quality DC. Still gonna have **** LB play. Run D and DB play will be better but Manny might just have sealed his fate.

And if Telly doesn’t have an on field position he and T Rob probably leave after next season.

Utah state suckered us into giving DVD a promotion and huge pay increase. He may be good, but I would have preferred he learned somewhere else then came here.
