Manny vs Richt...

Attila the Hun wasn't a preacher - nor Alexander the Great, or others - The Black Prince, Genghis Khan, Scipio, Leonidas, or Vlad the Impaler.

Manny has that "Take no Prisoners," or "Fly the Black Banner" mentality.

Which makes him a good man, in my book.
I do enjoy the wtf TV show PREACHER though...

Richt had an uneven record however 1m donation to IPF as well as stepping aside when in fact he could have negotiated a multi million $ settlement speaks volumes about the man.
Which I continue to say. Fact is Richt did not make us worse today then we were with Golden and plus he helped give us this feeling now and if we somehow win the ACC title this year I want him partying with the team foe setting this up

Scarface was on today, MD really did play an awesome part , I can watch Manny Diaz over and over 😳😳😎😎

by the time he got to UM, Richt was more shot than Muhammad Ali vs Larry Holmes.

He had to admit to himself after Dec 27th and the heat was on to fire his son

Richt is extremely religious and leads his programs by the book. Miami is better off that he walked away when he did. He was sucking the life out of this program. The same thing he did at a Georgia.

That may true but his coaching issues had nothing to do with his religion. You can't make that argument against Dabo, for example. And he's one of the biggest bible thumpers out there.

But I do think Richt's generosity in giving a million of his own $ for the IPF and walking away from millions when he finally retired did have to do with his religious beliefs.

He ultimately did the right thing and left the program in much better shape than when he came in.

You Cats have to always have something relating to the Canes to be ridiculing and *****ing about.

Mark Richt inherited a program that was in a death spiral and miraculously accomplished significant things that were not possible for almost 15 years. Additionally, he was the driving force in the construction of the Indoor Practice Facility that those in the know freely admit is a massive tool for the program to not only conduct more productive practices, but to sell recruits on becoming Canes. A tool that will prove invaluable over the coming decades.

You have continually attacked the man for his faith in God suggesting this proves he's weak and not a true Cane. Some of the most courageous and competitive Americans ever have been those with a deep and abiding faith in God, people you message board warriors call "Bible Thumpers". Desmond Doss comes to mind, although you HERD members must think he was a weakling or coward. Also, despite the Gator association I would like you to tell me and others that the "Bible Thumper" Tim Tebow is not a tough, take no prisoners athlete. The "Bible Thumper" Stephen Curry has the following scripture inscribed on his game sneakers; Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." I guess you Cats believe Curry is weak and not a competitor, especially when adding in his laid back, Richt like demeanor.

Look, I realize it has been difficult over recent weeks for you HERD members to find things about Canes football to hate, but hang in there as Spring practices should allow you to invent things to attack and complain about.

And by the way, the bible thumping Mark Richt voluntarily walked away from millions upon millions of dollars, which was a magnanimous gesture that he knew would allow the Canes to use those funds to hire a new quality head coach and quality assistant coaches.

Finally, anyone that states or hints that Mark Richt is not a true Cane is so helplessly stupid they have earned my sympathy.

Richt was a Cane. Problem was he didnt go to the U. He didnt know what the U was or how to bring it back. He did know how to get money from boosters. Get infrastructure built. Build a "respectable" program. Manny grew up watching rooting for and dreaming about the U. He knows what it is because he lived it. More importantly he knew that those days have past and its time to create something new. There is alot to get on Richt about but he did what he could and helped this program move forward. No Manny without Richt. No Ipf without Richt. We can be thrilled about Manny without $hitting on Richt. Good Coach even better man. Just not the right coach or right man.

That being said a lot of great points made on this thread.

Amen brother. It was in fact Richts faith that made me as big of a fan of his initial hire as I was. The way he left us only served to strengthen my respect and admiration of him. To each their own who have no faith in God or choose to be atheist. All well and good however, to try and paint richts failures as a result of his faith is just plain ignorance and assholism.
