Manny Post Practice Interview 03-22-2018

I can't wait until Steed introduces himself to the rest of college football. He has to be chomping at the bit after his redshirt year...

Go Canes!

If you listen to this interview, Manny pretty much telling ya'll the real deal when it comes to skill set. I have my opinions about the LB's as a group (other than Pinckney and Shaq because everyone knows what they bring to the table) and it seems that Manny's thoughts are very much in tune with what I was thinking.

Interesting that he refers to Shaq and Pickney as the uperclassmen line backers for the younger guys to learn from but doesnt include Zack. Starting to become pretty evident to me that he will be seeing a lot of sideline time this season.
He didn’t have a good season last year, hopefully it lights a fire under him

Guys like Steed and Wilder can really increase the athleticism and quality of the 2nd unit of LB's from the past two seasons, where they had been a noticeable drop-off from the first three.

He had an awful season.was recently watching a bit from last years FSU game and a couple times he went for killshots on Patrick and Akers and he just bounced off them and they went on to big runs.

I can't imagine what it must feel like for your boy to go to UM. I only hope I can feel that one day 🙏
Having him represent for the home town team is definitely a blessing. I think I am so focused on him doing the right things and praying for good health that I haven't really had the time to sit back and reflect on the position he is in and the overall impact it can have on his future. I will definitely try to enjoy it this year though since he will be able to play in games. One word of advice is start early with what ever sport your kid wants to play. Their bodies will change so you really may not know what position they will ultimately play until High School but just familiarity with the game throughout the years is very beneficial. Also always try to have your kid compete with the best in your area.

I really do think the Defense overall is going to be better in 2018 than it was in 2017.
An experienced back seven that has confidence will makeup for the DT situation.
Hopefully we can score more TDs off pick sixes and fumbles. Way too many times last season we were not able to score off the TO's That will make this defense elite.

The defense needs to be a lot better than it was last year. I don’t need to hear UM fans celebrating top 30 defensive stats anymore.

We appreciate you're being here on CIS and providing such great insight. Best of luck to your son and can't wait to see him on the field!

I know coaches will say what coaches will say, but it's hard to not be excited about some of the young guys after hearing the way he talked about a few of them

Diaz excels at talking.

Last year we were supposed to be elite and we got scorched way too many games.
