Manny on Joe Rose

“We have certainly enough in our locker room to compete,” Diaz said. “We defeated the Coastal champions (Virginia) in our stadium this year........ There’s three things. Your who, how and what. The what is what are we doing schematically, the who is who do you have doing it and the how is how are they doing it. And that’s the culture. I do think we laid down a good culture, the guys competed.
kill me now.

Until he loses the trinkets and fixes the mess he's made, no OC will turn his chicken crap into chicken salad. I'm glad he is making changes, but until he weeds out the lazy, entitled, self centered players he is going to have a mess. Stop inviting quitters back. That's part of the culture HE helped create. What is he going to do about that?

Now I hope I am wrong and the new OC just tears it up. I just don't think there are many OCs out there that can make a QB like Williams, Perry and Martell make good, solid decisions.

People were pretty enthusiastic about having JT4 back last year and bringing in Tate.

He’s delusional if he thinks the defense is fine
Obvious whats happening there though. Doesn't wanna fire his butt buddies. Certainly not a good trait to have, but I get it. Meanwhile, if you have that and also so horribly fail to even get a mediocre offensive coordinator and staff, I don't know if there is any hope for him in staff evaluations.

i'll also say that whatever you think about manny, i do think he really cares about this job and i also think that he's willing to self-assess and make changes to a degree that guys like golden and richt were not. unfortunately he's also just way, way more green than either of them which resulted in a lot of the mess this season. i genuinely still do think there's a chance he turns this thing around, but every year he spends learning on the job reduces that chance and digs the hole deeper with recruiting etc. so he really NEEDS to nail this OC hire and get us 9 or 10 wins next year, some kind of upward trajectory. and that's where my doubt comes in. i don't know that he's capable of that based on what we've seen. sure hope i'm wrong, though.
“Care about this job.” No ****! I would too if I would be making millions fleecing an Administration and BoTches so easily, with an AD who has no clue what a real FB coach is.

Miami needs a GM.

Should be a Miami guy.

And by Miami guy I use the term the right way to say he PLAYED for Miami not simply born in Dade with an FSU degree

Last year CIS wanted some motion in da offense. This year it the spread offense.

The spread offense is nice. Canedog likes it. But ain't chit gonna change until you get rid of the disease that has infected the team. Miami didn't lose to the Louisiana Tech Mud Dogs cause they weren't running the spread. They lost because players didn't give a chit and had quit before they landed in bayou country.

Didn't need a spread offense to beat FIU either.

Really? Ok then:

Fire Butch Barry: go steal Mogridge from USF.
Fire Stubblefield: go steal Darrel Wyatt from UCF
Fire Stroud: go steal Charlie Partridge from Pitt
Fire Patke: go get James Vollono from FIU for special teams only position
Fire Banda: go get Jon Heacock (DC/safeties) from Iowa State
Fire Rumph: go get Blue Adams at Oregon State or Travis Fisher from Nebraska as cb/co-secondary guy
Fire Baker: go get Mike Siravo at Baylor (lb/associate DC)

So now Diaz is saying we have the guys to win but after the GaTech loss he said this is a “rebuild” 🤡

and wtf does the offensive scheme have to do with losing to GaTech, Duke, FIU, and LaTech 🤡🤡
The guy has no clue about what he’s doing, or is supposed to do. Enos hire was one big fat ****, but I’d be interested in his take on Manny as a coach.

Just a thought, what makes you think he’s gonna get it right this time? I’ll eat 6 crows if he does, but my money says he botches this one up.
Agreed

If Manny wanted to win at UM, he’d always be willing to upgrade anyone on his staff to get a better coach

Patke Banda and Blake Baker are GA’s at best, and it shows, especially in recruiting

**** I'm honestly hoping that the OP is lying about that interview. Culture fixed? Only focusing on offense? Praising the defense? We have some good coaches? Totally ignoring the recruiting fails that are going to cripple this team (OL and CB)?

Gonna take more than simply hiring an OC, coach. This is Willie Taggart all over again.

Listen to it yourself. It is an interview. Everyone a Miami coach has given in 10 years annoyed the fans in one way or another, but check it out, I’m sure you’ll love it.

One of the red flags from his interview (if what was posted on this thread is true): that the culture is “fixed” merely because guys “competed.” I think he is still only meaning the defense (which still has warts but looks like a juggernaut compared to the offense). If simply trying hard is the standard, then winning will never be.
He talks rubbish, he’s a pro at it. I’d rather respect a used car salesman. The “Culture” that he talks about incessantly, isn’t fixed. The talk about guys competing, is hogwash, I’d like to see an example of it. You nailed it on the standard, but dung beetles try very hard rolling dung and actually are successful at it. I see no results with this clown.

Not going to rip the guy. He saw something was broken, and now he is making moves to fix it. That's all you can really ask for.

Still dont believe he is the guy, and I'm not confident he'll make the right hire, but at least he cut the dead weight early.

Hes learning from his mistake (yet another reason he shouldnt have been hired to begin with).
