Manny on Joe Rose

We can all criticize Manny up and down for the uncountable mistakes and blunders he's made in his first season starting with his bluster all offseason. But you can't blame the guy for being hired and learning on the job. That falls on the BOT and AD. So, what he thought would work didn't work and he's quickly making changes. Whether it ultimately works nobody knows but he's doing what any leader would do.
Until he loses the trinkets and fixes the mess he's made, no OC will turn his chicken crap into chicken salad. I'm glad he is making changes, but until he weeds out the lazy, entitled, self centered players he is going to have a mess. Stop inviting quitters back. That's part of the culture HE helped create. What is he going to do about that?

Now I hope I am wrong and the new OC just tears it up. I just don't think there are many OCs out there that can make a QB like Williams, Perry and Martell make good, solid decisions.

Should’ve went spread from the start smfh
This. Especially after seeing that RiChT offense, he had a chance to come here and really implement a spread attack that we as fans have never really seen down here with these kinds of athletes we have access too. It could have been a program changing direction/style with that offense. It was a monumental fail. Especially after the buzz terms like “cutting edge” not sure how you trot out that **** excuse of an offense. Had a chance to really excite the fans but shatt the bed miserably

my personally opinion is he was blinded by the porous QB play in 2018 and thought all Miami needed was a great QB, didn’t matter so much about offense scheme. He’s seen Dan Enos produce the Allen bro’s at Arkansas first hand who gave his defense trouble then obvious the media blew up the Hurts development at Bama.
I think he also underestimated how bad the QBs actually were.

Manny put his trust in his players obviously a huge mistake while behind the scenes they “ went through the motions “.

This is one of the lessons Manny learned, your dealing with kids who think there adults you can never trust children to make good decisions without adult supervision.

I tell my 4 year old granddaughter no and next minute does it anyway, high school enabled players worse they’re spoon fed headline reading children with no experience except the football field.

Try telling a child they did something wrong look in there eyes you see just eyes nothing else .

Never ever trust children to do the right thing, now Manny knows to some extent he’s running a daycare till they finally get it some never do like the JW type till a shovel and pick is in there future

I personally don't think 5 and 15 are that bad. I just don't think either are that good, but give them Enos and they look like trash. Give them a more balanced O with more use of the entire field and they would look like power 5 QB's, but QB's who just turn out to be average starters.

Last year CIS wanted some motion in da offense. This year it the spread offense.

The spread offense is nice. Canedog likes it. But ain't chit gonna change until you get rid of the disease that has infected the team. Miami didn't lose to the Louisiana Tech Mud Dogs cause they weren't running the spread. They lost because players didn't give a chit and had quit before they landed in bayou country.

I think there's a lot to this theory. Even people who thought Enos wasn't going to be good didn't expect this level of failure.

Manny's very fortunate to have a second chance to make a better choice and I strongly suspect Enos being as horrible as he was is part of the reason.

I saw them both miss too many passes for it all to be Enos. A lot, yes, but when you have a QB that can't see open players, sees them late, then misses them if he DOES throw it, it's a killer.

I actually cringe at the thought of any of these QBs in a high tempo O. Gonna be fun seeing those 15 second 3 and outs. Man, we need a real QB in the worst way. For the record, I desperately want a high tempo O. I also want a QB with enough brains to run it. One that can see what the D is giving and take it.

That’s exactly what happened. He didn’t do his research. He was going for the splash hire.
