Manny- no different than Lincoln Riley or Ryan Day

Well, Lincoln Riley was promoted from within on an 11-2 team that finished ranked 5th in the country. The great Bob Stoops was in charge.

Ryan Day was promoted on a team that went 12-1 and is ranked 6th. Legend Urban Meyer handed it over to him.

Manny Diaz coached on a staff that put together an absolute train wreck of a season, went 7-6, and was so bad the coach quit. Not exactly a great situation or similar to these two.

Wisonsin(twice) BC GT CLemson all disagree. He beat up on shlt competition but any team with a pulse walked all over dIAZ
Which is exactly what happened every where he has been. Thats why for a second I was excited about actually getting a real aggressive DC. Not a fancy bend don't break defense we have now

Alot of mental/ mind gymnastics with ppl trying to convince themselves Diaz is an elite DC...

He ain't...I mean LSU did not score a point against bama, not one.

wisky has exposed our "great" defense two years in a row; first by passing and now by running

Lincoln Riley had been Oklahoma’s oc for two years. He was at East Carolina before that. He became HC at Oklahoma when he turned 33 years old. It’s complete revisionist history to think that wasn’t a big roll of the dice. People forget Manny was the hottest DC out there when he got the Texas job. Things fell apart with Mack Brown but he proved what a good DC he is the last few years.

It’s not exactly a full deck of defensive talent he was dealt. His defense had nowhere near the talent of a Bama, Clemson, LSU yet they performed at an elite level. He turned JAGs like Adrian Colbert and Michael Jackson into NFL players/prospects.

Stoops also quit in the middle of the summer. It was a far different situation. OU wasn't going to make a legit hire at that point of the year, so they gave Lincoln a shot. If he failed, OU has the money to buy him out and move on. It was a pretty low risk move for them, when one looks at the timing of Stoops' departure. Miami has a ton of time to make a decision, they also are BY FAR the most attractive open job on the market. This never happens when Miami has to make a hire, and Blake James managed to crap on himself like a newborn baby.

Either way it’s gonna be a ride. Hope he does well. Manny please hire a OC that will implement the air raid!!!

At least we won’t have a sleepy old man on the sidelines (no more disrespect mark)
But if the results are the same, is there really any difference. At least with old man, the buyouts not as large. What's the buyout on Diaz? We paid $4,000,000 to Temple and he barely reported for work. How much do you think James paid to shackle him to himself?

Who knows. Let’s just pray James doesn’t extends his contract after beating bumfu*k university in his first year.

Give Diaz a chance bet those offensive players have d different atitude now.Perry won't do stupid things on social media now.deejay and the rest will wish they didn't talk trash on Twitter the pay an egg on Saturday.attitude of our team just toughened up won't be long we be kicking good teams a$$e$$ like we used to.
Perry already proved you wrong.

And our 2 consecutive Heisman winning QBs? Perry and ????

Randy Shannon is the correct comparison. GOOD LUCK

Diaz wasn't hc when Perry did that.did any of Diaz defense members do stupid things like Perry did no because they know Diaz won't put up with it.
Keep your eyes open and you will see things you wouldn’t otherwise see. Perry is still up to his numbskullery.

Manny doesnt have track record as Lincoln, he had one great defense. Lincoln had yearss of evidence and was universally recognized as one of top offensive minds.. What is this ****?! Stop reaching, this is lazy hire.. We didnt even interview anybody

And superstar Lincoln had 28pts hung on his shell shocked team by a 67 yr old man before they even knew what stadium they were in.

He is so awesome I can't stand it. The saviour of any program he touches. Opposing teams just forfeit instead of even playing the game, because what is the point really?

This legend amd myth building is getting out of hand.

Until proven otherwise, Manolo is the best HC hire for Miami.

He fails, I'll fly the plane and banner myself.

So you’re saying Diaz is different? Because did you see what OP said?
