If we go 8-4, why did we fire Golden? We didn't hire Richt to go 8-4. This team is very talented, and I can see improvement in almost every aspect of our game due to superior coaching. We were so putrid in so many areas the last several years, like 3rd down conversions, and stopping teams on 3rd down. I fully expect those numbers to go from horrible to at LEAST average. That could easily make a 2 game difference over last year. I also expect us to beat FSU this year. They are NOT world beaters, and that stadium will be extremely loud. For the first time in ages we will have a home field advantage, and it'll show against FSU.

Why did Alabama fire Mike Shula for Saban to go 7-6? Why did OSU fire John Cooper for Jim Tressel to go 7-5? The list goes on in year 1.

This is a talented team. That Alabama team was a mess year one. I just don't see where we are that big of a mess to stay at 8-4. I see so many aspects of our team improving, but I should expect the same W/L record, with arguably an easier schedule?
 
Can the defense hold up? Can the oline hold up. Team does not have the depth to go 10-2 IMO. 9-3, 8-4 much more likely.
 
It would take a lot of good fortune and a lot of rapid development to win 10 regular season games.

We haven't seen much good fortune with this program lately. Some guys will devlop quickly, but it won't be enough.

I can see 1-3 against FSU, UNC, ND, VT with the win probable coming against FSU. Then they lose a close one to a lesser ACC foe. That is very realitic. Manny is a bloated ******.

The 2007 Bama team was very similar personnel wise to the 08 team. Also, Richt didn't exactly walk into a perfect situation here either. Tressel didn't walk into Baghdad either. I'm not going to be happy with 8-4, but I also think it's dumb to say why did we fire Golden if Richt goes 8-4 in year 1. It's not the same team. Golden had a more talented or at least experienced team last year. If Richt keeps going 8-4, then yeah, but to get ****ed in year 1 is absurd. Saban, Richt at UGA, Tressel, Urban at UF. None of them just waved a magic wand in one year.

I believe our D will be unrecognizable this year. Guess we`ll just have to wait and see.

Great points but Canes have gamechanger Qb compared to a lot of those teams.
 
I think we can go 10-2. I'd think we lose vs UNC instead though. Blacksburg is tough on a Thursday but they have a lot of work to do. 10-2 with a win against FSU. I'd rather that then winning the coastal.

Unc had no depth but did it and gt had no depth the year before and did it.

Argeed GT on the road is a toss up game. 3 freshman LBs vs the option Equals potential disaster. If we win its in a shoot out. No way we shut them down on D.

We go 1-3 vs ND,NC,FSU,VT

4-2 vs Pitt, NC St, GT, UVA, Duke,

3-0 vs FAU, FAMU, App St

7-5

if we didn't lose AQM and Grace I would have thrown the GT and DUke games in the for sure win catorgies for 8-4 or 9-3
