Manny Navarro calls out team for being SOFT

this team is so soft they had to PROMISE the coaching staff that they wouldn't be selfish

Lmao this sounds like something a girls clique would cook up at the start of summer camp. I'm all about the unity stuff and improving chemistry but LMAO.

Bunch of Mickey Mouse amateurism from Golden. Sold the team a used car they bought in and will crumble right when they face adversity. Pretty sure these kids see right through the fraud that he and play with no emotion as they are ****ed for being hoodwinked into signing for this jackass.

I [state your name] do hereby pledge allegiance to the training table with liberty and weight gain for all. Amen.

I can only hope these kids are reading this thread right now. They have it within them to see through the bull**** being fed to them.

Ferman is on record saying he isn't impressed the way Miami practice (lack of energy, enthusiasm). Starting to see a pattern in Manny's comments. We can knock Ferman and Manny all we want but they actually are out there first hand while we are speculating on a message board.

They see the first 15 minutes of practice. Warm ups and a couple of drills. They then get told to go sit inside. That is what Ferman is making his astute observations from. When practice is over a media relations guys comes to get them from a building and they ask questions.

Is it your opinion that you can't gauge a team's emotional state at all by observing them for 15 minutes per day? I'd think that you can see quite a bit of a team's approach by the way they come out and warm up and the energy you see from them during stretching, etc.

I used to go to a lot of practices, and the better teams we've had were always jacked to be out there right from the beginning whooping and hollering from the beginning.

Excellent point. This "last year's team was full of me guys who made it a bad environment" angle is weaker than weak. Folden is forcefeeding the team this line of ****, and they're spitting it out robotically. It's pretty sad because it seems like we're watching a bunch of cultists spit out nonsense that they clearly don't believe in order to keep the cult leader happy.

We'll see how much they believe when adversity hits. We've got 4 years of evidence of every Folden team quitting under adversity. Let's watch the miracle men of 2015 be the first not to fold.

Sorry, pal, you're either full of **** or never played the game or stood through a full college or pro practice. You can't make wild-*** conclusion or draw anything from the first 15 minutes, especially the first 2-3 weeks or preseason.

Hey, very intelligent response. Can't say, but you've obviously showed yours.

Rok, I think you're reading too much into it. He meant towards how he feels UM player interviews are getting boring.

There isn't a player or coach on the current rooster that has any right to talk with a swag injection. None of them have beat their conference rival, none of them have won 10 games or their conference, none of them have won a bowl game.

10 games?

son, you need to open your book of pillars and re read last nights homework assignment

10 games.. pfff you think this is alabama or something? you need to get your expectations back in check

you're clearly hearing way too much noise, I would also suggest you to stop doing any long walks and do not I repeat do not go to any night games

tired of these me posters

CORAL GABLES – When veteran Hurricanes offensive line coach Art Kehoe went on the radio Monday and named five starters, Kc McDermott wasn’t among them.

Even though the sophomore from Palm Beach Central High is currently behind redshirt sophomore Sunny Odogwu at right tackle, he said the race isn’t close to complete.

“Nothing’s set until the game starts,” McDermott said.

Even though junior Alex Gall, whom Kehoe named as his No. 1 left guard, might make his first career start Sept. 5 against Bethune-Cookman, he said he’s not getting too comfortable.

“I’m excited – might be, that’s the key thing,” Gall said. “It’s still a competition until the first game. Nobody knows until we literally step on t

Though coach Al Golden stated last week he would set his team lineup for the season-opener on Sunday morning, and Kehoe said on WQAM on Monday that each player met with the coaching staff to discuss roles and responsibilities, Miami players all but denied a depth chart exists.

It’s different around here, to be sure. UM previously released depth charts to the public. The last one was released after spring drills ended. Golden previously handed starters different-colored practice jerseys than the backups, as a means of motivation. Beginning with spring drills, offensive players now wear the same orange jerseys. All defensive players are in black.

Now, Gall said players have been told, even if a he starts for the first drive against Bethune-Cookman, he “might not be in for the second drive. You never know.

“I think it’s good,” he said. “It keeps you on your toes.”

It is my opinion that this board will gravitate to and glorify anything that strengthens their opinions. If Ferman had lauded the practice habits of the team and was impressed by those first 15 minutes he would be crushed for being the no nothing that we all think he is. Since he said something that falls in line with the general thoughts around here these observations are given more credence.

Sounds like North Korea, to be blunt. You are alive right now, but later on, maybe you won't be. Only Kim Jung Golden knows for certain.

Listening to Herndon's dad on Ferman's podcast validated my point. The guy was completely bought into Golden and that this truly is year 1 of the Al Golden tenure. Golden is a tremendous salesman and knows he has the ability to manipulate people among the best of them. The team is currently riding a new high of the new year which is what he is using to create hope. When Ferman and Manny go on record stating the team lacks emotion and doesn't practice at a high level it shows that the kids aren't completely bought into this false hope he is selling them. He is the husband that hits his wife and says he won't do it again, yet continues to while she lives in fear but still "loves him".

Confirmation bias, player. I don't like Golden as a coach, but this is some bull**** to complain about.

Regardless of what Manny meant, there isn't a single intelligent Canes fan who can argue this program doesn't need a major improvement in the confidence/attitude department. Jimmy Johnson doesn't get enough credit for injecting an incredible amount of swagger/confidence into this program. It's true, confidence is built on success; however, JJ played games with an attitude to not only win games but destroy his opponents. They played with heart. And if we were behind, we NEVER gave up. The players fed off his persona. Anyone, anytime, anywhere.

Now? Our players are bragging about being a "team" for the first time ever in the Golden era. The goal is to compete for the Coastal. Really? I know it is hard to accept this but this program is completely soft like Golden.

Wow. So because a player's dad believe in the coach, he is being manipulated? I guess Shaq Quaterman's dad is being manipulated too.
