Manny Navarro calls out team for being SOFT

Only this place would bend over backwards to ignore what's staring them in the face.

Only this place would make up nonsense because they just NEED to criticize and whine. In fact, many of the same whiners say they hate the word "swag" and that it's meaningless...but now that Navarro uses it in a way that they can invent a new attack on the team, they suddenly care that a 2nd rate reporter said the 'Canes could use some swag.

How anyone can say that Golden does not coach or play a soft style of football is utterly unbelievable! The idea a football coach should teach an aggressive and attacking style of football will be proven wrong by Mr. Psyche football experiments. We are coached and play soft no two ways about it. Not the kids fault, if you play aggressive they call you out as freelancing or not doing your assignment.

Ferman is on record saying he isn't impressed the way Miami practice (lack of energy, enthusiasm). Starting to see a pattern in Manny's comments. We can knock Ferman and Manny all we want but they actually are out there first hand while we are speculating on a message board.

Not looking too much into any reporters comments. I'm sure the players were told no more grandstanding and swag talk..and I'm glad! These kids need to PROVE IT ON THE FIELD! Amazing how posters on here are the first ones to say how they are not believing the hype talk anymore but get mad when the players don't buy into it either. I like the business like approach. They have a lot to prove. No time for entertaining reporters.

Jassid,

Business-like approach? No offense but these kids have been having the time of their lives since camp began.Every team should practice team-building and do something every once in a while to take the edge off but until we see a sense of urgency from everyone involved I don't think these kids should be praised for the way they're approaching this season. Football should be fun but Howard, Jimmy, Butch are probaby disgusted with ice cream and talent shows.

The sooner you people let go of this "I'm not ok, you're not ok, but it's ok" mentality, the sooner you'll wake up and realize how bad things have become. Maybe this team goes out and shocks the world. Anything's possible. But they're having a ball for a team coming off the program's second losing season in 35 years.

Ooooh, "girl"! I haven't heard such witty, biting, intelligent put downs since preschool on the playground. Can you wow us with some "your momma" attacks next?

They see the first 15 minutes of practice. Warm ups and a couple of drills. They then get told to go sit inside. That is what Ferman is making his astute observations from. When practice is over a media relations guys comes to get them from a building and they ask questions.

Rok, I think you're reading too much into it. He meant towards how he feels UM player interviews are getting boring.

Duhhhhh people

Beat writers want juicer things to think about and these players are doing what the right thing in giving them nothing

Not once did I see the word soft in that tweet.... He said they need a swag injection, hmmm maybe players are fatigued and tired from practicing in 100 degree heat with 50lbs of pads on. Stop overreacting

Agreed

This team is the biggest bunch of pansies in college football history.

Softer than baby ****.

Does OP have a quota of like 6 sh1tty threads a day he has to reach? Only explanation I can think of

And he's absolutely right. Bunch of ******' pansies, and it starts at the top.

Actually, no, he didn't. "Swag" is not the antonym for "soft". In fact, they are unrelated. You can be a hard-*** team with no "swag" at all...just business with no flash. As usual, you are desperately reaching.

Oh good. For a second I didn't think anyone would come through with an etymology analysis of the word "swag."

Thanks dk72.

this team is so soft they had to PROMISE the coaching staff that they wouldn't be selfish
