I absolutely agree that he made his own bed and he raised expectation levels with his mouth. I'd also contend it was the right move. If he can't actually coach/run a program then it is what it is and will sink him disirregardlessly.

Tempering expectations in the offseason would've just been starting off taking an "L" when his mouth essentially staved off the bleeding from Rick's departure.
