Manny (likely) staying (through the end of season, TBD thereafter)

I think if Manny wins out, which is unlikely based on his track record, there’s no chance he gets fired. Especially with Mario currently in the driver’s seat for a playoff spot.
IMO - Mario would basically have to go undefeated every year to make the playoffs. 1 loss max.

Once Ohio State wins out, they will move up despite losing to Oregon. Michigan St will drop b/c I believe they are overrated so they will fight it out with Oklahoma (who is overrated) for that 4th spot.

Mario would have a better chance to win and make the playoffs at Miami than Oregon in the long haul especially if USC rises again.

This!

Of course. But the worst case scenario, and the most likely one if Diaz wins out, he stays. Then we better hope he hires a DC. We would be stuck with him.
That can’t be allowed to happen. This guy can’t keep getting chance after chance to fix his Fvck ups.

He’s already on OC #2, that would be DC #2, etc. That’s so bulls!t incompetence to be allowed to go on.

If Mario wants this job, he will get it regardless of what Manny does. If Mario says no, then we might be stuck with another year of Manny. I would move on regardless. He’s not the answer. The defense will somehow continue to be something of what he’s done here the last 6 years wether he’s the DC or not.

If you keep him you hold the program hostage cause we outrightly said win or else…

I really don’t know why you think this is the most likely scenario.

I’m not saying it won’t happen, and our BOT has proven they are incompetent, but with all of the rumblings circulating I still wouldn’t call it the most likely scenario.

All bets are off WHEN (not if) BJ gets fired

I get what you're saying but we'd be 8-4 going into a bowl game, with one of the best young QB's in the nation, young skill guys on O and D, etc. Win the bowl and we're probably preseason top 10-15 going into next season, which happens to be Manny's money year in terms of getting or not getting an extension.

If this were all to transpire, I'd rather tell Blake to kick rocks, hire a competent AD and let him have a full year to evaluate.

I don’t see the school keeping manny after publicly making we have money comments. I do think they really are bankin on Mario to say yes

That’s in addition to public perception and the media attention that change is needed at Miami.

I really don’t see a scenario where at a minimum BJ is fired, they bring in a new AD and they go out to market and try to snag their top #1 or #2 candidates for HC

I can’t do another off season of Manny - I just can’t, lol!!!

You might be right - of course that will be something this admin would do because that’s what they have been doing for the last 20 years which means all of the recent talk is all bullish!t.

All of the statements about having the money to invest - if they are just peddling that to cool the waters down for 1 more season for Manny to prove to everyone, once again, that he can’t coach, he can’t recruit linebackers and that we will just let him try and plug his way out of things with only portal kids is just a horrific plan which will keep us in this purgatory forever.

Edit: these are Pyrrhic victories. Don’t fall for the winning out part. TVD is covering up for a lot of underlying issues. We will never beat a really solid contending team (Georgia, Ohio St, etc) with Manny

The issue with playing young guys is that you’re bound to get inconsistent play. Inconsistent play plus awful defensive gameplanning all but guarantees us to drop a game that we shouldn’t.
I think these young guys have already dropped the games that they shouldnt have..(UNC and UVA) As much as it hurt to lose those games because we should be in the ACC Coastal drivers seat right now..I think that helped them understand how close you can be to a win or loss and any one play can determine that.

These young kids have already been through the fire. If they lose any of the remaining of these crappy teams we have left to play, it wont be because they were young IMO. It will be the inevitable game where TVD is just off and cant hit the broad side of a barn and he isnt there to bail our defense out again. Im hoping that game doesnt come, but thats the only way I see we lose again. None of these teams left we are playing can outscore us if TVD is on. Not one.

To be clear I’m not rooting for Miami to lose

Between the remaining 4 games and a bowl game, I’m willing to make these two bets:

1. Although the young safeties are a breath of fresh air, Miami’s Def still gets exposed against inferior talent but better coaching

2. Offense will have at least 1 game where TVD isnt completing 80% passes and averaging 4TDs a game with no picks

ANY scenario whereby Minnie "Slip N' Slide" Diaz is the HC of UM football, at this time next year is a recipe for absolute disaster!

So beating NC State and Pitt............freaking NC State and Pitt has fundamentally changed who that loser is??? Yeah OK!

He's the same circus clown that

- Tackled the 7-6 dummy on wrestling night (LMAO) in 2019 then promptly went 6-7 (Can't make this bleep up)
-Got murdered by two (2019 FIU, La Tech) and struggled with two (CMU 2019, App State 2021) Group of 5 teams

-Has turned our LB unit into one of the worst LB units in all of CFB and can't recruit any either from High School or the Portal. App State had better LBs than us SMH

-Has led our defense to record breaking crappy defensive performances. NC put up almost 8 Wal-Mart parking lots of offense on us in 2020. Even with the last two wins. His defenses have given up over 1000 total yards

-Invented the crappy Turnover Chain which has assisted in making our program a **** laughing stock in CFB

-Then he went even further and created the HEAD SCRATCHING "Touchdown Rings"

-Smoked a victory cigar after beating the worst FSU team in their history......without their HC

-Invented the post-game Slip N Slide after barely beating some crappy ACC Coastal team.....without their starting QB.......we played 5 teams like that in his glorious 2020 8 win season LMAO

-Generates at least 3 new excuses after every crappy loss (and I thought Al Golden was bad with his "cloud" BS)

-Is viewed as a joke by most anybody that is respected in football. I would pay good money to know what Mack Brown said to him at midfield, when Diaz was trying to runaway and Mack caught his arm and LAUGHED at him some more

-Never played CFB at any level (yes this matters)

-Took 6 games to figure out what the fanbase saw in game 1 of 2019. Greg Rousseau SHOULD START!

-Took 6 games to figure out the younger players on the 2021 team were the best part of our current team......which is to say they haven't yet been tainted by him and his crappy leadership........give it 2 years and the fanbase will be saying "James Williams stinks etc...."

-Should be at Temple FKing up their program

Geez do we need any more examples of why that loser needs to GTFO of our program???

Give it up. Take your L and move on.
There's nothing funnier than people that can't successfully read and interpret a tax document being conned. Then again, I'm not shocked, a lot of our fanbase are clueless in regards to how real organizations are managed. You think this "Article", that is extremely short on details is some kind of accurate description of what is going on? Of course not. I'll tell you this as someone that has worked in corporate finance for a while: Division heads aren't willing to prop up failing divisions indefinitely, especially when the division that is being propped won't ever be expected to pay it forward. The professionals at UHealth may be fine with putting a couple of bucks in to right the ship, but they aren't going to be utilized as a permanent piggy bank by an entity that can and should be self supporting. Manny played all of you for suckers, and Frenk and his people fed him the info.

Fair assumption
