Manny (likely) staying (through the end of season, TBD thereafter)

Even if he goes 8-4 and wins a bowl game, there is nothing stopping the school from firing him
And BJ if they have a plan and conviction

It’s been done before
My respect for the athletic department would be restored if we rid ourselves of Blake, hire a competent AD, who subsequently fires Manny, and hires a competent head coach…even if we win out. Would show we’re truly serious about bringing this program back to prominence. 4 losses this season was inexcusable to 99% of the fanbase going into this season. Given the talent we had coming back, we all expected no more than 3 losses honestly (including Acc champ. game and bowl game potentially). Manny squeezing by these last two opponents and now having the easiest part of the schedule coming up shouldn’t change any of that.

This is exactly where I'm at. You could excuse the two OOC losses to a pair of top 5 teams, but how can you justify losing the conference in the first two conference games and keeping the coach?

I’d say we should have won the Michigan state game regardless if they’re ranked #3 now…our roster is more talented than theirs. Competent coaching would have won us that game brother.

Anything less just tells us the admin will continue their incompetence

You're probably right, we sht the bed in the fourth.

They didn't go into detail because they are pulling a snow job. I wouldn't be shocked if UHealth is making a loan or one time cash infusion to the athletic department, using COVID related losses as some kind of cover story. That said, UHealth won't be consistently doing that, and the athletic department should be able to swim on its own, with competent leadership. No school in the country is straight up robbing Peter to pay Paul to subsidize athletics, unless there's a catastrophic loss(IE COVID). I'm sure that Miami athletics has a donor in the pipeline that is stepping up as well, making it palatable to the powers that be at UHealth. UHealth will not be tapping into their profits on a regular basis to fund a department that gets to keep EVERYTHING it makes, doesn't have to share a dime with anyone else and when things are going well can be quite cash rich(relatively speaking).
LSU says "hold my beer while I embezzle money from a cancer charity and funnel it towards our athletic department".

I'm going to quantify this by saying I don't believe it would happen but you do realize that going 10-4, winning the ACC and the Orange Bowl would be the greatest season for UM football in almost two decades? Once again, it's likely not going to happen but if it did...

Still not sure why firing the coach mid-season would make any difference. I get it if the whole team has given up and the locker room is a mess but regardless of Manny’s poor strategy and defensive game planning, the team is still playing hard for him. The few guys who did quit did the team a favor. Let the season play out and barring a miracle (I’m talking about winning the ACC and the Orange Bowl), then you can bring in a new coach.
The only problem is that if he gets to the championship game he won’t be fired, and we will have another wasted year. If they fired him after unc the path forward would be clear.

Remember that time we thought Golden was going to get fired after he bailed on us trying to back door a deal to PSU b4 they chose Franklin, and then we finished the 2014 season 6-7? Remember all the hoopla about ppl being mad & he was going to be evaluated at the end of the season? U know what happened in 2015? He was the coach.

Listen, I’ve been through this rodeo way too many times. We have a disconnect on the BOT. It’s already been reported multiple times b4 and during Manny’s hire on how influential his dad is on several BOT members. We’ve already heard multiple reports on how there’s a disconnect feel on Blake James.

If Manny wins out, or finishes w/ a 7 game win season, it would not surprise me, ONE IOTA, if he’s still the coach here in 2022. Call me jaded or w/e…one thing I learned is to never get excited w/ a change:

-Shalala retires, we have a shot at the Admiral, but we go w/ a foreign, shirtless selfie king who worked under a crooked administration in Mexico b/c he’s deemed to be “a health expert” who had taught & was a dean at Harvard.

-The now fired AD Shawn Eichorst leaves for Nebraska, u know the same Eichorst that prematurely extended Golden after a 6-6 season; what does Miami do? They hire from w/in a failed AD, hiring a numb nuts, no experience AD to lead our athletics.

Trust me when I say, be shocked if we go contrary to history. I’m not just talking about firing a coach, we’ve done that, mucho times…I’m talking the entire F’ing infrastructure.
I agree with everything you said EXCEPT the part about the Manny winning out at 7 in a row. If he pulls that off and finishes 9-4 (especially if we face and beat UF of all schools in a bowl game)...I actually think that would be the hardest decision to make in awhile to fire the guy. Reason I say I disagree is that it honestly shouldnt shock anybody. The guy just might deserve another shot at this thing.

I am not saying I agree, but I am not putting up any money for a banner either. LOL
