Manny is not getting fired... So what now?

He needs to fire everyone and go for broke in year 2. It’s his only option.

What assistants worth their salt would want to come work for a coach on the hot seat after 4 games into his first season?

Me personally, no faith in the current staff. Playing a shell game isn't going to change the outcome. It would take a miracle to dig out of the hole that has been dug. The last shovel of dirt is about to drop so if changing the staff HC included isn't an option then I have nothing of value to add. Those that feel the talent is there, I just don't see it. You don't get beat by gatech or have a death match with CMU with top 15 talent. Some jackass that works the drive through at McDonald's could coach wins against those teams.

Nice way of looking at life. Rich history in the heart of the best high school football talent in the nation and we'll never be back.
Rich history of talent and Canes haven't won a championship since 2001.

Talent isn't going to coach itself and the best talent will continue to go to the Alabama's and Oklahomas of the world. You know, real football programs.

none. Based on the staff we have now no one wanted to work for Manny anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

That was one of my concerns that a young coach like Manny that still is cutting his teeth may not have many quality connections. I was hopeful when we hired Enos, who at least had considerable experience and was in line at Alabama for OC, that Manny was able to attract quality assistants. He's been a big disappointment too.

Manny should go to the top of the Rickenbacker Causeway and jump.

Maybe then the program will have a chance next year.

I’m not even sure we have too 15 skill talent...dropped passes, Ivey getting toasted over and over...ugh

de madre meng!!! COJONES!!!!
Agreed. None of our skills guys are particularly special (save Brevin Jordan). No one has break away speed, no one really threatens a defense, and no one has any national recognition of any kind. Maybe Jeff Thomas, but he's inconsistent and unreliable.

Sad reality is that we lack any real playmakers. We don't and shouldn't need them to beat the likes of UNC, GT, or VT. But we do need them if we want to be consistently relevant again.

Clearly Diaz and his coaching staff are in over their head. But he's not getting fired in year 1. Let's try to have a decent thread. So what needs to change the rest of this year and into year 2? In between years, at least a few coaching changes are needed. But can anything be done to salvage this year?

I've been harping the kicking all year long and it lost us our 4th game today but being in a battle with a 1-5 GT is unacceptable and beyond embarrassing so there is something very wrong with this team and it always starts with coaching.

I agree, not after year one. I would let go of Blake Baker as DC. The defense has regressed. I’d see if Jim Leavitt at FSU wants to be DC. Or Randy at UCF or Strong at USF. I’d bring in Joe Brady from LSU and see if you wants to be Co-OC with Enos or Passing game coordinator. He’s a Pembroke Pines guy BTW.

I’d remove Patke and what’s his name, promote Rumph as DC and bring in Reed as secondaries coach. I’d give Kevin Patrick whatever he wants to coach the dline. That’s off the top of my head rough start.

Hasn't this been done before? There is something systematically wrong with the program.

Of course there is...which is EXACTLY why our battle cry this time around should be for BLAKE JAMES head....not just attacking Manny.

Make that POS ACCOUNTABLE for what he's done. He's the ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, whether or not that's a paper title either he or someone a level up needs to be crucified.

We have a bad mix of old players who the program failed or who failed the program, and inexperienced coaches.

You have to start with a new recruiting strategy because the old S FL model doesnt work anymore. We get what's left over. We need to find winners, coachable kids who can learn to play disciplined FB, and play with heart. We have a handful, but I'm tired of seeing guys take plays off.

Recruit Florida kickers, so you can watch them - plenty of good ones in this state. I see them every Friday night (Some can even kick from the **** hash mark). Get the ST coach out on the road to watch (pressure situations), do the research and time them rather than take the word of services like Kohl's Kicking and Punting Camps who have a financial intrest in placing their campers.

This is an known academic institution, O-Linemen are generally the smartest guys on (Successful) teams. Go find some guys who have high GPAs and have blocked for 1,000 yard rushers in HS, who know how to win with some reach and size you can develop, you'll miss on some but not as many as we have. Appeal to them from the academic standpoint . Find a young Art Keho type to coach them. O-line's win championships.

I stop watching games for a few years.

Enough is enough - there's only so much heartache I can take.

I would **** can anyone on the offense. This OL would limit gains by having anyone calling plays this year, but just a bit more out of that unit and our record is far different.

New kicker with a dedicated special teams coach. I don't want anyone who has said anything to our current kickers besides Hedley anywhere near our new guy.

Keep your monies in your pocket and enjoy your weekends with friends and family.

We've had some low lows but man this is rock bottom for me.

Diaz is in same situation as Folden with his DC. He didn't fire the jerk, and it cost him is job and credibility. Diaz has to get rid of Enos if he hopes to salvage his job. Manny can concentrate on the defense and let a new, fully qualified OC watch the offense.

Completely agree. It’s not just the coaches that should get the blame. The players effort is unacceptable. They are all unmotivated (except hill and Murphy). Al Golden’s teams would put up a better fight.
