You make a good point, but wouldnt you rather he start in a position of power so he can make changes immediately. "If something must happen, it might as well happen now...." Or however dafuq the quote goes.

What change do you think is gonna happen? Diaz aint getting fired year 1. Id get Zo in here now, if next year is cluster changes will be made. If they are feeling the heat now imagine another year like this. That way Zo is here and will have input on the next decision. Just get the pieces on the board.

Manny isnt going anywhere this year, but his flunkies are expendable. Get Highsmith in a position of power and we can get quality assistant coaches to replace Manny's drinking buddies. The Nepotism has got to stop now.

The more I think about it the more i feel blake sees the writting on the wall. Bringing in Highsmith now buys him an extra move/year. Bring in Highsmith this year saves him next year, promote highsmith next year saves him the following year. That buys him 3 years n by then i dnt think he gives a ***.
