Yes, I listened to the entire interview. I generally support Diaz and feel he’s improving the team by recruiting better talent… I’m not a “burn it all down fan” because I actually see the progress he’s making with this team and our culture. Also, I like his defensive strategy and believe it will benefit greatly from the talented classes he is recruiting.

However, despite making self-critical statements during today’s show, Manny comes off as aloof, bordering on content and happy. He has processed the game, come to terms with it, and moved on. He comes off as someone who is upset at not getting a A, but is content with a B, and is planning on improving. The issue is that the coaches deserve a C or a D for their performance against ‘Bama.

Regardless, lets onwards to App State.

Let's be fair though. Saban and Bama do this to most teams in season openers under Saban with an average margin of victory of 29.7. He's never lost one his entire time there.

Just wish we had planned better on offense to show some more life. Seems to me, they just wanted to get through this game and knew they couldn't win it.

Yes, I said couldn't win it. We're a middling team at best and while there's always a chance, you'd need a microscope to see it.

Now if you're talking about teams not named Bama and Clemson, we should always at least be competitive.

I listened. Diaz is making excuses along Bailey the Carpet man and Homer Zagacki. It's a loser mentality. Make a bunch of reasons as for why this, why that, but it's the same outcome. If you say it enough, you hope the majority believe it. It's a flat out joke this cat is the HC....like the guy in the casa blanca today.

If Diaz wins here hes going to do so on his ability to adapt and recruit. Criticise all you want, he's a much better recruiter than Richt - I'm genuinely not sure what he's sold some of these kids, but he's brought in two very good classes.

He runs an aggressive and largely successful defensive scheme (yes it's flawed, but good athletes hide that) and he's hired a good Spread OC. Literally everything people have asked for from Miami.

That said he's not a coaching savant and is clearly learning how to be a HC on the job - that's Blake James' fault, not his. We were in dog fights last year because Jordan couldn't stay healthy and Pope / Wiggins dropped everything. Get players in those matchups that can win their one-on-ones and we blow out a few of those dogfights. College football really is that simple.

TL;DR I've seen Diaz try to correct his mistakes every year and general improvement on the field / in recruiting. If we don't win the ACC Coastal this season then I'll get off the bandwagon - and that means I'll only accept close games against VT, UNC and NC St. Against everyone else we should be emptying the benches in the second half.
