Roster depth/ scout team, etc

- Said they are putting Scout team roster together now.

- This week will be the continued evaluation of guys and who can help the team execute the Bama game plan the best

- Next week will be fully practicing the Bama game plan and having guys in place for the game.

Manny says he feels good about the Dline, particularly after the scrimmage this weekend. Feels the DTs have made great strides; DE position has 4 guys who can get the job done - says he believes this position is in the Miami DNA.

- He feels good about having two lines of DL who can sub in and out and keep coming at the opposing OL in waves..

- RB: still not ready to name a "feature back". Competition will continue through this week. None of the guys have been fully participating due to various bumps and bruises...

- TVD & Garcia been pushing each other. Anticipates that competition to continue at a high level throughout the season

- Young WR: All getting reps. All making plays = staff is really excited that they have shown to be exactly what they had on film in HS

- Manny said they have talked about Bama but the main focus has been on Miami playing their best. Says if they don't consistently play at a high level they can lose to anyone on any given day. That's been the focus since camp started. Translating that into Bama prep

Biggest takeaway for me after listening:

talked very highly of our defensive tackles. Says it’s night and day from last year. That’s massive news
That’s easy to see. Jon Ford and Jordan Miller both look like monsters, and with Ford being 35 years old… he surely didn’t want to be over taken by a 19 year old kid. #Stepup

Having dominating (or at least **** good) DTs can mask alot of weaknesses we have on D especially at LB. That could be the difference between 9-10 wins and 10-11 wins if our DTs can play to their potential. (Ford, Miller, Nesta, JHH, LT). I am very excited for this group.

TIFWIW But supposedly Taylor has been making our OL look silly. He's going to be a problem.
Well, that is what arguably the best defensive tackle prospect is supposed to do. No reason this kid cannot be as productive as Vince was his freshman year. We get that type of production then we are going to be in excellent shape in the A and B gaps.

We’ll find out when the lights come on, we’ll either meet expectations or fail to. We’ll see what this team is made of soon enough
