Manny bringing back a guy Richt dismissed

It seemed like a mutually agreed upon departure based on Thomas' tweet of the situation. But given Richt's track record of how he handled Willis' situation, I am sure the door would have been kept open IF he felt Thomas would take responsibility to take care of his own end.

Don't see the need to be constantly ****ting on Richt. He's gone and Thomas is back. There is a new Jefe now.

nice guys finish last in CFB... every successful coach plays dirty and has to be a level of slimy.... manny's gathering as much talent as he can.. I use to be against lowering standards, but now a days with the SEC allowed to run rampant... LETS GET DIRTY.

Has gotta be the biggest indictment/slap in the face to the old staff

New Miami indeed.

Shows me Manny is a savage and is willing to take the extra step. What a difference 3 weeks makes
I know it was probably obvious that Manny wasn't pleased working for Richt but.....he's given him about 30 middle fingers since he was hired here. Like, blatant middle fingers.

Love it.

They put out he was dismissed. So that means he was dismissed.

I hear where you're coming from, but that statement came from the same coach who a couple of weeks earlier had said he wished he "had about three of him". Also voted him team captain multiple times last season.

Knowing what I know now, I'll take CMR past statements with a grain of salt

Thats what im going with.

Manny is a savage but at the same time he’s not gonna be an ego maniac controlling freak. He brought in baker to call the defense. He didn’t say “oh no my defense my show I’m calling the plays” like Richt. He wants to win desperately. Cause if not he’ll get run out of his own town

As it should be.

Firing MR son the moment he came into the building for me.

I was literally wondering if the way he was perceived for making a move like this would cause him not to make it. Well he did, Manny clearly don’t Give AF. He letting dat thang swing 😂😂😂

Everything he's done so far reeks of a frustrated staffer who was silently seething about how the programme was being run.

He's come out and said all the right things about Richt, and maybe he really respects him as a man and as a mentor.... but clearly not as a coach.

Every offensive staff member, gone. S&C coach, gone. On NYE!

Mahoney, who he must have seen get dominated in practice every week, told he's surplus to requirements.

Thomas, perhaps our most talented player, welcomed back.

He's done everything we could possibly have asked for as a fan. I will say though that the real test comes when one of his hires fails - it's easy to sack someone else's coaches, can he sack his own and how short a leash do they have? I suspect he'll be fine in that aspect, but it's something to look out for.

all this you just posted, spot on

In 2 weeks Manolo has overturned a lot of Richts work. If we didn't need it he'd shut down the IPF too.
Yep. We’ve gone from sea bottom plankton to being at the foot of Mt. Everest in two weeks! Two weeks ago, we were suicidal, now we thumping our chests. What a swing of good fortunes! Jury is still out, but this Manolo infusion is just what the good doctor ordered for an ailing fan base.
