Manny apparently doesn’t learn

Sending them on repeated go routes puts them in position to fail. It’s not the wr’s fault Clemson knew their routes and the oc didn’t scheme a rub route or man beater, the most basic defense to beat.

cant have man beaters if your receivers cant run routes. our receivers being incapable of creating any sort of seperation against man isnt a new thing.

last comment on my end.

Flowers is a really good player. I wanted us to pursue him as a DB but he's a very good WR as well. He was the top playmaker on the U-School team with McIntosh and Sanguinetti.

I agree with your point-- we should score on Pitt. But it's amazing to me how many South Florida 3* WRs are balling for other teams while we struggle.
Just my opinion, but my assumption is that when a school like a BC, Pitt, or some other small P5 brand gets a skill position player from South Florida, they make a huge effort to make that player the focal point of their gameplan. He’s almost by default the fastest player on their team and so is put into positions to succeed.

Btw I’m the guy who’s been saying the wr’s are a problem even back to the off season. But he did nothing to help , including not using 12 personnel with Mallory.
I don’t see nearly enough 12 personnel, or 21, for that matter. It’s almost exclusively 11 which is a shame because it literally emphasizes our weaknesses.

The TE usage and efficiency has been one of the bigger disappointments on O based on what we were told it would be prior to the season.

I hate to be a douche bag but I’m good at it, I was saying all off season the wr group scared me. I didn’t see anyone that’s a playmaker after the catch or consistent hands. Miami should never be missing wr’s that get yac.

Thank you. For 2 years, I've been calling Pope a massive BUST, Harley a hard-worker but completely limited athletically - tiny, slow, etc., Wiggins an athlete NOT a football player and been downvoted to **** on this site. Now suddenly everyone sees the light. Ugh

Manny doesn’t get it at all. He doesn’t believe this. He can’t

Don't underestimate Pitt's defense. Second best defense on our schedule.

Simply put, this game will define our season and coaching staff. Can't wait...

Not the same caliber as Clemson but they are good.

Pitt has a very good Defense, especially their DLine, they have one of the best front 4 pass rushes in the nation.
Yes Pitt does have a good Dline, hopefully 53, 51, and 74 get their head out of their asses. I hope our WRs step up. we need them to and we need to have a threat on the outside.

You know Pope and those guys......why are we so soft at the WR position?

So he acknowledges they’re going to copy the same blueprint as Clemson. Will he/Lashlee make adjustments?

I read that as Manny Diaz actually learning. Acknowledging what they are going to do and sending a subtle message to Lashlee to make adjustments.
If he had followed that by saying they'll have the same game plan on offense then you had a point.

I told y’all
Just like in 18 when Pitt beat us and set the blueprint and we sucked from there on.. hopefully our OC gets his head out his as$ and plays the young WRs cause the starters are doodoo

They're not copying Clemson's blueprint.

That's just who Pitt is. They want to crowd the box and play man.

They did it in 2016, and Ahmmon absolutely torched them.

They did it in 2017, too, but Rosier's accuracy was awful.
Absolutely we know the HC there is a defensive guy and he's always done this going back to MSU....
