Manny and his LSU lost to Troy in 2017 Pitch

What a joke to even have that prepared as a reference point.

But if you look at what LSU/Coach O did after the 2017 season staff wise -

  • OC - Fired Matt Canada: Replaced with Steve Ensmiger (was TE coach) and Joe Brady (previously an Offensive Analyst for the Saints)
  • OL Coach -Replaced Jeff Grimes with James Cregg (previously Assistant offensive line coach at LA Chargers) - coached Tyrone Smith, Matt Khalil at USC
  • DL Coach - Replaced Pete Jenkins with Bill Johnson (previously DL coach at LA Rams)

Also LSU finished 9-4 in 2017 and made these changes

Plus didn't Orgeron fire Canada into the season because he determined right then it wasn't going to work? Then let Ensmiger take over, saw some improvement last year and through the end of Canada's absence (last half of season 1). Then Orgeron saw how Bama was working them and how cfb modern offense needed spread concepts and got Brady last year to implement more of those concepts.

So basically on offense Orgeron showed the ability to adapt very quickly with Canada (which Diaz is not showing yet with Enos) and make yet another change to evolve into season 3 with Brady.

What drives me crazy about Manny is how can't he see that when we show urgency or push the tempo and produce a lot more points he doesn't demand it from Enos? Against FIU we could have run the ball a lot more but we also could have spread them out as we saw at the end of the game (FIU sucks) .


He was running uber slow tempo with generic slants they were obviously reading and not picking up that we were easily running on them as well.

Maybe Manny surprises us and fires Enos

But you are correct, the lack of accountability and scrutiny on Enos, whose offense is underperforming at every level, along with players transferring, is extremely alarming

If I heard him correctly it was in the context that this is all fixable. He's right. LSU as you point out did what they had to do. Question is if Manny will too.

Until Manny realizes he is the real problem, nothing will change. Well, there are problems above him as well, but on the sidelines, he is the issue. Yes, he needs a better OC. No, getting a better OC will not fix the culture. That comes from the top. Ed O is respected and feared. Diaz is not. Ed O can go get a man to do his job, and the young men respond, because they buy in to what the head coach is doing. Our players are lacking discipline, and an OC, any OC, will have a hard time making chicken salad out of this chicken crap.
 
I am highly skeptical of how Orgeron would be doing without the most expensive staff in CFB and I’ll leave it at that.

Keep in mind that at plenty of schools (not only Miami), the admin might force the head coach to keep underperforming assistants just because their buyouts are too expensive. Not all coaches have the option of being able to get their original hire wrong, and then correct it at mid season.

Plus LSU’s salaries prevent their good assistants from leaving for anything short of a Power 5 head coaching job. Orgeron isn’t at risk for losing his OC for, say, the head coaching job at Tulsa like Manny would be if he had hired a good OC.

My question is, how do you already have this fact to use on your team? That's loser mentality! I am, and have been a die hard fan of this U since I was a kid, 89 ND games was my 1st game and I was 9 years old. I can't even tell you who Clemson, FSU, UFagor whoever play on a given Saturday, but Manny know who the **** beat LSU in 2017

Do you honestly think the buyout number for Dan Enos is so extreme he can't be fired? I sure as **** don't.

Of course none of the media fools will call him out on this. If you're going to draw comparisons then go all the way. Don't splice **** to save face.
This situation will get more toxic by the day. Unreal that our BOT and Administration is just going to watch this happen while sitting on their hands.

I’m not sure Enos could be fired at mid season. I don’t know if the position coach who’s selected as interim OC usually has their salary upped to OC level.

Anyway, Orgeron was able to hire guys as position coaches who other schools wanted as coordinators. That’s how extreme LSU’s salaries are. He can go “okay, you’re fired! Now, let’s promote that position coach who NC State was going to make their OC before we outbid them.”

Ed O failed MISERABLY at Ole Miss. And that was with some pretty good cheating. Not as good as Alabama/LSU/Clemson, but still SEC respectable.

All of a sudden, he's at a school that is basically broke, but fortunately, has a win at all costs ethos when it comes to football and literally will spend themselves into bankruptcy, and cross any red line, just to protect the football program.

I guess that now magically has transformed him into a respected coach.

All right then.

I told a friend of mine after that game manny would use the LSU / Troy or Bama/ ULM example. He’s a politicians son.

You don't go into Alabama and whoop them unless your coach is respected by the players.
