Mallory

He had 2 drops that seemed to be more so focus drops than a symptom of having bad hands.

He just needs to focus & catch the football, which is a common theme amongst our WR's & TE's.

Writing him off after 1 game is retarded, but what I want to see is Enos utilize him better, if Jarren is going to be taking all these snaps from under center (which I disagree altogether but that's a different topic for a different day) we should be running a whole lot more 2 TE sets. TE crosser routes with Mallory & Brevin both running across each other through Zone coverage with LB's on them is a easy pitch & catch play that's designed to get those YAC yards up.

I'm not worried about Mallory or any of the players in general, I'm more so waiting to see Enos put all these players to use & get them the ball scheming up some big play chunk yards.

We got all these 4-star kids all over the Offense, FIGURE IT THE FCK OUT ENOS.

Dopey Canes fans will trash the fck out of him because he dropped a 100 mph fastball at point blank range.

He’s going to be the new target of the legion of the miserable because real UM fans are excited about his potential.

He has plenty of potential but seems to get lost in routes. Let’s face it, he is not in there for his blocking. He should be mismatched against lbs lining him in the slot. Hope he breaks out but for now he is green tree all American.

Glad you brought that up. I keep seeing posts about how Mallory dropped so many passes,. But I recall one that COULD have been caught, but like you said was gunned at him at top speed from a few yards away. The only other one I recall being "dropped" was a pass that was thrown behind him while he had a defender draped on him. Now, he didn't do much during the game, and blocked poorly, but people acting like he proved he had no skills is just ridiculous. He'll be fine.

I remember similar criticisms of Greg Olsen early in his career. He was considered soft for a long time.
He did play soft his senior year, was playing for the draft. Clearly avoided contact after catch.

Criticism of Mallory was warranted after his week 0 performance. He'd tell you the same thing. He's due for a breakout performance. Maybe it happens this week. Maybe it happens next year.
Absolutely. But there's a difference between criticizing a weak performance in one game, and the idiots coming here and claiming that he sucks, he's a failure, he will never be good, he's a "Greentree All-American"....based on one bad game.

Calling him the clubhouse leader for Greentree All-American isn't so derogatory imo. His career is just 10 games old but his combination of hype, recruitment, lineage, scrimmage highlights, expectations and game film may qualify him for that distinction up to this point. That's not the same as writing him off or labeling him a bust. Harsh? Maybe. But Greentree All-American is a routinely used phrase among our fans along with trash, JAG, bust, stud, star, etc. Early talks of placing him in the GTAA category isn't supportive but also not the ultimate indictment. He's got plenty of time to reverse the trend and show everyone what he's about.

Get out of your feelings, who's bashed the kid? Show me one example. I'm guessing you think Enos was a big meanie to Williams too

You basically implied he's a practice all-star who sucks on the field with your "Hate to be that guy, but he's the leader in the clubhouse for "Greentree all-American". "

....based on a grand total of ONE GAME....with him being targeted 3 times (one dropped pass that was gunned at him from 2 yards away; one "dropped" pass that was thrown behind him as he was tightly covered and he couldn't turn and get it in time; and one pass that was overthrown as the defender was on him tight (with far more contact than either of the PI calls our players got).

Will hasn't popped off yet but guess what? When you have a guaranteed first round tight end as a 19 year old ahead of him kinda can wait for him to ball out. I trust Will just like I believe in Pope and Hightower just give him time you idiots
