Mallory

One of the highest ceilings of anyone on this team.
But y’all mfers complain even if Jessica Alba and Margot Robie we’re naked waiting for you in bed.
And will stay complaining after they make you sandwich and hand you a beer.
Great stuff, my man!

These f'ucking haters would rather be the ones making the sandwich, and they prefer Justin Alba and Marcus Robie waiting in their beds!

The same vulture cannibal moron “fans” destroyed B. Meriweather for two years because his 180 pound freshman body wasn’t ready to tackle 230 pound Otis Wilson with a head full of steam.
Correct me if I am wrong but Meriweather still made the tackle... I thought the moment was a little big for Mallory the other night, not a slight on the kid, just a young dude who may have been two amped up. Get him the ball early, get the confidence going and rock and roll.

This game will be interesting for sure. Where does Pope fit in, how do the tackles respond, what does Ivey bring to the table. Does the coaching staff clean some things up? Said it before, first game for a lot of people, first games are hard for experienced staffs, never mind a new staff in a rivalry game. Game should be interesting if you can watch it and not loose your **** on every possession.

he's obviously going to be fine as a pass catcher. they'll get him the ball in space and he'll look great. the question is whether he can block at all or if he's just our mike gesicki (penn state version). because if he's just a flex TE it changes what everyone thinks our best personnel is. he didn't look much improved at all as a blocker vs UF.

He was getting killed in the run game...to the point i dont know why he was out there for blocking purposes. Unless Irvin is hurt i would have rather saw him come in to block.

Just split Mallory and Brevin out wide as both had a tough go trying to block last game. Which is why guys like Irvin and Polendy need to step up in that departmenet.

Criticism of Mallory was warranted after his week 0 performance. He'd tell you the same thing. He's due for a breakout performance. Maybe it happens this week. Maybe it happens next year.

Yeah kids still a sophomore... hasn’t played much and people want him to be HOF player status lol. Give him Time to shine. He’ll get better with more game experience.

Its just a way for them to deflect from their idiotic expectations based upon their blood lust and obsession for recruiting hype.

These dudes spend half the off season creating unnecessary hype around freshman, talking **** to people about what could bes.

Then the player has a bad game and its all pitch forks.

Smh. Weak

This kid is from Jacksonville and could easily have been on the other side week zero. Save the jokes saying he was cause he had a bad game. Crazy how we demand LOYALTY from the local kids to stay home and rep The U, but as soon as they have a bad game where is the fan LOYALTY?? God forbid they do not become great players like fans demand (ie. Robert Knowles ). I get sphincteritis just like everybody else when a kid that struggles gets on the field, but I cheer for him and I sure as heck do not bash him. It is one thing to discuss a bad performance or bad play in general, but bashing and pinning derogatory labels on them from the confines of your keyboard is cowardly and it certainly is not being a true fan. Be better than the folks up north. If you are Cane then be all about this :neonu:. See below. That should mean something to :neonu:.

Well ... at least your post is coming to his defense.

No need to bash the guy, but also no need to deflect very valid criticism of his play vs the turds. The drops were bad, but that should be an outlier based on how great his hands were all camp. Odds are high we won't see that again. The blocking is a different story. He was a definitional liability blocking out there the entire game. Until he can do a much much better job there, he needs to not be used as a blocker. Some of the film of his blocking was downright painful to watch.

Do other fan bases write off players as quickly as ours? If a player isn’t setting the field on fire on game day by his 2nd year, he’s a JAG or Greentree AA?

****’s ridiculous.
Don't know if this has already been said, I think the true Canes fans and OG Canes fans understand it is this new generation of fans that want instant gratification, you know the ones who can't put down their phones for two seconds to carry on a real conversation because they are afraid they will miss the next social media update and may not be the first to see or respond to it. Ultimately they don't realize or have the patients in understanding that it takes time to develop, not everyone is a freak athlete.

You sir, do not understand Miami Impatience.

My dad expected perfection as a Canes fan lol. That ****t got passed from him to me.

Don’t blame millennials you old ******

For those who are writing off Mallory, he still have 2 years after this year. I consider a player a bust if at the end of his Jr year he has yet to contribute.

Nahhhh I grew up in Homestead and havent even hit 50 yet, however as I get older I look at things different, living in Alabama now I have turned my son into the same kind of UM fan that your dad is/was and I myself was I have just adjusted to the way I look at things now that I am older and have lived through the past 10-15 years of Cane football. I get it about millennial's and all, just sharing my two cents.. p.s. Love the use of ****** that is CLAssic. Go Canes!

Tell me about all these drops. I saw one ball gunned 100 mph high from 2 yards away. I honestly don’t remember all the other drops.

You guys need to remember you’re fans not analysts. Everyone is trying so hard to be these objective analysts that they lose track of the fact they’re just fans.

Everyone and their mommy has a podcast or a blog or some other dumb ****. They start twisting **** to the point where a guy is accused of multiple drops when, in fact, there’s no basis for half the criticism.

If we’re expecting Mallory to block guys like Daphne Zuniga we’re going to be really disappointed in him. Maybe they need to put him in a better spot to be productive because he’s not an in-line savage blocker. He’s a big WR.

The first "drop" you're talking about wasn't even for him. Jordan was behind him, that's why the ball was thrown so hard.

He also had a drop on a corner route later in the game that would have been a tough catch, but OK I'll give him a drop.

Those 2 plays don't mean much to me. What disappointed me the most were the other mistakes. The hold on the fake FG that he clearly didn't even come close to needing to make. The abuse he took in the run game (to be fair, Brevin got smoked a few times too). And in the 4th quarter on the boot we ran to the left (short) side of the field, he clearly ran the wrong route because JT was supposed to come behind the formation into the flat (and got tripped by Donaldson as he got knocked off the ball like most of our OL did all night), and Mallory ran some sort of half-assed speed out and him and JT were separated by 5 yards, max. Clearly not the design.

ALL OF THAT BEING SAID, it was the first game of the season and it's not like he did anything that lost us the game. Even if he doesn't hold on the fake FG, does anyone have confidence we're powering the ball in from inside the 5 on that defense? Maybe it happens, maybe not. But Mallory will be fine. Making a whole thread calling him out when he was probably the 17th most critical reason we lost is retarded.

Huh? How was this directed at me? I dont consider myself an analyst, I am merely a fan. I have never claimed to be an analyst or football expert of any kind. I dont blog; in fact I dont even have an account on facebook, twitter or instagram. Never have.

Mallory dropped multiple balls vs UF. At least two, I believe it may have been even more. And they were blatant drops. Not balls most players would likely drop as well like you're making it seem now. I dont collect film clips. Maybe someone who does can post them here to satisfy you. The guy had yips on a big stage. Not the end of the world, and like I said above, something we likely wont see again.

But the blocking was a completely different story. I guess you didnt take the time to read Lance's breakdown. You should, it was really well done - heck, it was very analyst-like! If you had, you too would have major concerns about Mallory blocking, and not just when he is up against Zuniga.

Lol. I spend everything like a genius.... I do save some... then do it again though.

Seriously, I’ve been lucky to be able to structure work schedules and get good travel deals.
One of those days, if you feel like it, do spread the gospel for us dummies brother. I understand that generally i'ts a matter of prioritizing, but I swear my money runs off on me when I think about a nice trip
