I hope the guy does great, I really do.

But being hyped like that, then playing like that, you get criticism from fans because they expect you to be a Miami TE. They're allowed to gripe despite what certain posters here might say otherwise. Some of the guys are overly critical about him, and some just wanna point fingers at the fans.

This is Miami and this is what comes with the territory no matter what side you're on. Me personally i'm disappointed in his performance, but i'm certainly not gonna get mad at fans for showing similar frustration. I do disagree with dedicating a thread to him, you gotta do what robert knowles does for that kinda singling out.

spot on. I dont know if Mallory will be dominant against UNC but he will eventually be a nightmare for defenses

While I agree with you, I also would like to mention that UNC's run defense is soft and I like for us to have over 200+ Yard rushing this game.
 
It kinda make sense though. This fanbase hype players all off season without any production so its only right they turn on em extremely too fast as well. At least they consistent lmao

When threads like these are originated you're just asking for it. "Mallory was awful in week 1 -- therefore I'm predicting he's going to ball-out (something he's yet to do as a Cane) this coming Saturday." That's such extreme homerish behavior and is equally reprehensible as calling anyone a Greentree All-American imo. There's no reason to believe that Mallory will have a monster game on Saturday. Brevin Jordan? All day. He's done it. Will has not.

Big difference though. People pile on Knowles for an entire career of blown plays, not just one game.

Exactly. Somehow the legend has grown. He dropped one pass that probably should have been caught (but gunned at full speed from 2 yards away). He had one other that was in his reach, but it was also thrown behind him, and he wasn't able to turn his body and reach back in time (and he was well covered). That's it. Yet reading some of these posts, you'd think he had 10 drops in the end zone or something.
