So this may be a dumb question but what do you think Bolt was running at that age? Just curious.

Hard to say as he was busy running the 200 and 400. He ran a 19.93 world junior record, age 16 but missed the World Junior Championships that year. He then had a rash of injuries (missing the world junior championships) and it took a while to beat that time again. He did go to the Athens games at 18, but got eliminated in the qualifier only running 21.something.

He didn't run a 100 competitively then. He actually had to get his coach to allow him to try the 100m. Nearing 20, he had a best time of 10.03. At 19 years and 9 months he blazed a new personal best of 9.76.

Bolt was a freak, but what he could do if he specialized earlier in the 100, who knows.
