Lyle

So many backs I don’t understand how you keep them happy. Our new RB coach better have a sports Psychology degree.
This. Amazing problem to have but I have no clue how they’ll do this. Hopefully we are up so much end of each first half that they allow Fletcher to rest and then the committee gets their carries.

IMO - Lyle ever being our RB1 was disrespectful to Fletcher

Outside of Wake Forest - Lyle really didn't do anything in 2024. Lyle didn't "earn" the starting role.

Fletcher was easily much better than Lyle in 2024

There was a reason he started game 1. He earned it in practice. The Lyle vs pringle battle will be a fun one to watch in the Spring. One of them won't be happy

ehhh, in most of those games Lyle only got 1 or 2 carries and as we all know, most RBs need a few runs before they truly get going. Lyle never got those opportunities like Fletcher did.

Also, how come we're omitting the USF game when Lyle went 6 for 104 (17.3 avg)? That's 2 games that year where Lyle went for over 100 yds (in 7 and 6 carries respectively) when Fletcher didn't do it once.

And i'm a HUGE fletcher fan btw; he's an amazing Cane. But to say Lyle being RB1 was "disrespectful" to Fletcher based off what they both did in 2024 and what the coaches saw behind the scenes during practice, it's not fair either. JMO.

I think you need that depth at RB because they get hurt often. We've had years where we thought we had 4 good ones, then two get injured and we don't look deep at all. Added to that, a guy like Fletch might not want to be overused during the regular season.

WR is where it' going to be hard to keep everyone happy. We've got 6-8 guys that are going to want touches.

Whats your thoughts on Pringle
I'm a big fan of Pringle.

I'd still like to see more of Pringle vs better teams/in closer games - but I'm pretty confident he's pretty good.

IMO the depth chart should be:

1 - Fletcher
2 - Pringle
3 - Brown (more of a situational role player who could sometimes be our #2)

I'd use these 3. If 1 gets hurt, I'd just use the other 2.

4 - Lyle, CWH, Mallory can battle this out. Mallory being the wild card if he's better than I think. But IMO these are more depth/late-game in blowout type RB's.

But Lyle consistently hasn't looked good in games (Both in 2024 and 2025).

Shouldn't that by far be the measure of how we evaluate players?

Pringle is a different level of talent than Lyle IMO.

Agreed, I do like mallory alot compared to what he’s rated, need to see his athleticism in college tho but he seems like a good all around back and pretty good in between the tackles. Good compliment to pringle
