Thread you must be a really guy, because butch had nothing to work with when he arrived and barely had ships.

And what the **** do you think Chip Kelly had to work with in Oregon? All he had was some shiny uniforms. He had nowhere near the talent available to him that Miami has.

Belotti had a very good 3/4 seasons in a row before Chip got there. Butch had chicken ****.

Butch inherited a devastating probation, but Miami lost 6 games the previous 4 years. The problem was 42-6.

1991 12-0 National Champs
1992 11-1 Lost to National Champs in Sugar
1993 9-3
1994 10-2 Lost to National Champs in Orange

Chip Kelly inherited a Nike cash fueled juggernaut at Oregon. At Philly where he inherited a team that needed a little rebuilding like Miami does, he has been a straight up tool. Would rather have Brian Kelly than Chip Kelly, but guess what? Ain't neither one of dem ****** going to Miami.

He inherited a very good team from Bellotti. 10-2, 11-1.

Chip took over and went 10-3, 12-1, 12-2. As you can see, as his recruits were feeding in, he started regressing, with his mighty offense losing two games.

Chip does well in short bursts. He was like The Pirate who inherited a great team. Lots of offense, but can't sustain.

****es people off. Sphincter-Syndrome.

I can see zero evidence he's ever built anything UP. He's incrementally changed the offenses, but he's been handed great tools to work with - and when he doesn't have that - like at the Eagles - he's out of his league.

How did he regress if two of the 3 seasons he took over overall had more winning totals than belloti had...?

Chip also went 12-1 his final season. Don't think that's really regressing.

They just put anything out no matter how ludicrous it may sound to try and discredit candidates other than Butch. I love Butch but come on now smh

Chip Kelly

Career record NCAA: 46–7 (.894)
Bowl Games: 3–2 (.600)
NFL: 24–17 (.585)

Also 14-6 versus ranked teams. Only one time has lost to an unranked team, and it was in his first season.

Let's entertain this hypothetical merely for arguments sake...

If cost will not be a deterrent whatsoever since UM is shooting for the stars for a coach "the caliber of Saban and Meyer" -- and there has been "tons of interest from big-time coaches" -- then why the continued fawning over Butch as if it would be a good thing for us to fail to land an elite-level candidate who's currently coveted by every major program?

Miami should try like **** to land a top-tier option. But failing to land one if we're willing to spend to get that caliber of a coach when we have the strongest recruiting base in America would be a colossal failure. Everyone appreciates what Butch did here 15 years ago. But to see some Miami fans seemingly hoping for Chip, Patterson, and others to tell us no just so that Butch can come back seems...bizarre.

It's a very odd phenomena that has developed over the past month or so with the Butch cult. They're so dug in on Butch that it's become an all or nothing thing with them, and they're bent on Butch even over obviously superior options. We actually have dudes on here attempting to discredit Chip Kelly, who would walk in here and win 11 or 12 games in year 1.

Not knocking Chip but have you done your research on him? You know he runs the same two gap 3-4 defense that has completely ruined our football program the past 5 years right? And its not an attacking style 3-4, its the same bend don't break bull**** we saw from No D.

Its my only concern with him, but its a big one.

Not arguing here, but are you sure of that? When I watched Oregon games they attacked because they wanted the ball back asap. And they weren't afraid to get beat deep or give up a big play because they knew they would get it right back on the offensive side of the ball. The NC game against Auburn they definitely were an attacking defense. It actually surprised me because they were just as aggressive as Auburn.

Chip Kelly is not being looked at for USC's coaching position. Lsu is one to watch in regards to chip Kelly other than Miami of course

Truth be told... I'd prefer Gary Patterson over Chip ... and that is not a knock against Chip...

Patterson bring a Defensive element with him along with possibly Doug Meacham at OC.....

I was never enamored with Chips finesse offense.. losing to teams that were too physical with Oregon.

Chip will definitely win with the talent down here, I'm just not sure that he'd bring that toughness to play a physical brand of Football when needed once or 2x a Year..that's just me

But He's 10 Win guy every year... but then again so is Mark Richt.

On Record Though for Patterson/Herman/Butch .... but If Chip comes we should be in good shape..

JC

I'll take Gary Patterson or Dan Mullen all day over Butch or Chip Kelly.
