Love the ****le “passing game coordinator”. I’d say we should get one but we’ve got 3 OCs on the offensive staff now.
 
Linehan was one of the worst OC's in the NFL, he's not an innovative play caller at all.

I said it in the thread once Brady got hired by Panthers that the LSU "dynasty" was officially over. Once he goes, it goes.

Linehan is King of the ultra conservative Pro style bro Offense lol, I understand they just had a historic season & went undefeated winning a natty & breaking records, therefore we're in no position to clown or laugh at LSU, but man if I was a Tigers fan I'd ****ed at this hire lol.

The combo of Old man Ensminger & Linehan without Burrow & those WR's is about to be revert back to the LSU ground & pound days of running the ball, then dinking & dunking all game long. The deep ball is dead for them now, **** Linehan didn't even utilize the deep ball when he was OC for the Lions & had Stafford & Megatron lol.

As a Cowboys fan, I can confirm that I wanted to reach through the TV screen and brutally beat Linehan on multiple occasions when he was with us.

Massive downgrade indeed lol

LSU is still loaded with talent so obviously they'll be very good regardless of who runs the offense, but this hire and no Burrow seems like it means Bama will be back on top in the SECW

I agree, but coaching hires don't mean much. I'd at least wait to see if there's a drop-off at LSU before we start gloating. I'd be happy with any of the top teams getting slapped with a scandal or sanctions, I just don't get obsessing over who they hire as coaches.

One of my buddies is a huge Dallas fan, and he bltched all season about Linehan. It was a non stop Linehan and Jason Garrett bītchfest. Don’t know why some people on here are deep throating this hire.

...and Pelini? High risk, middling reward. That maniac had some good defenses at LSU no doubt, but melted down at Nebraska and was on the downslide. If the defense doesn’t perform, he may lose it again, maybe blame other coaches, who knows, he’s crazy as a loon. Maybe he works out, but the guy is high risk

Simply put, it involves the sport we follow. I don't have all the time in the world to follow all that goes on in college football, so I appreciate it when people post other big news. This is big news IMHO as it involves this year's national champion and a perennial power. If it was who Central Michigan hired or some other insignificant school in the land, I wouldn't care. I really don't care that much who they hired, but since LSU, Brady, and other things with that school was relevant this year, why not.

Considering the only difference between 2018 LSU and 2019 LSU was Joe Brady, I’d say coaching hires mean a whole lot. With Joe Burrow and Steve Emsminger in 2018, they were average to below average. They brought in Brady to run their passing game and they obliterated their record book and Burrow became the Heisman winner/#1 draft pick. Now, they’re replacing the innovative Brady with a coach who’s a career underachiever that runs a boring, traditional pro style offense that has gotten him fired everywhere he’s been.
