LSU firing OC after one year

LSU will soon be known as the place where coordinators go to ruin their reputations as long as Drunk Eddie Wifebeater is at the helm. Canada was a rising star prior to taking that job and Aranda was considered elite.....until he looked average this year. Their entire concept of having a Cajan imbecile as CEO and surrounding him with good coordinators is a joke that'll ruin everyone involved.

My first thought was “who on earth is going to slit the wrists of their career by going to Baton Rouge”? Corch O ADMITTED to telling Canada not to run his motion-based offense this year. Who in their right mind would submit themself to that jibbering position coach’s micromanagement.

If they promote from within, and the guy was already on staff when they hired Canada, Coach O is definitely on the hotseat. That means he failed with his first major hire, and that’s rarely a good sign. Especially if the AD is pulling the string on staff moves.

What might be interesting, though, is if Coach O wanted the guy he’s about to promote and was forced to hire Canada? Either way, this next season is huge for LSU. Hopefully, we get them off to a bad start!

I wonder if Aranda sees the iceberg coming, and jumps to Texas A&M or Alabama?

I also know folks hate the guy, but I think Lane Kiffin would be the perfect fit for LSU if he has repeat success with FAU and the wheels fall off at LSU, as expected, this season.

IMO, this is also a lesson for Cane fans wanting a fantasy draft coaching staff. Chemistry and trust matter more than folks want to give credit. And that’s why hiring a random OC was/is never going to be CMR’s style at Miami.

Canada is a good oc, this is probably a blessing for him. Lsu is where wr,qb's and oc's go to die.

Any offensive recruit that goes there deserves what they get.

This will be what, their 10th OC in like 5 yrs... They just can't seem to hire a quality OC. Their offenses and QBs seem to always suck.

Eddie O must truly be a zero. Hiring Canada and telling him not to run the offense that got him the job is just nuts.

The first sentence of Dellenger's post is my favorite. The guy has been there for almost exactly 12 months. The fact that this has been a "long, long time coming" shows what a **** show it must have been this season. Scary.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

LSU and FSU seem to be proof that there are limits to how much money big schools can spend when they make mistakes. The price of coaches and recruit Brown bags are starting to add up. Hard to believe who UF, FSU, and LSU have ended up with as coaches. Donna must be conducting training courses in how to destroy a football program. Life is good.

Make no mistake. Canada is an excellent OC. This is all on that mushmouthed boob HC. That relationship was doomed as soon as Corch Jibberish roasted the motion offense publicly.

If someone doesn’t snap Canada up and give him an OC job, then we should see if he has interest in coming here. Would be a great 10th assistant. He’s been great with QBs and could teach our guys some of that motion offense. It’ll never happen unless we lose Brown or Dugans because we already have too many coordinators in title.

Guy can not work next 2 years and make $1.5M/yr doing so. Or he can take whatever job he wants and will be happy at and still make a net $1.5M/yr. Not too shabby

I just hope that moon-faced, hard-drinking, crawfish-sucking corch can last through the off season so he can be there the first game of 2018. I don’t give a fūck. I’ll take every advantage I can get.

Just about anybody else on the sidelines is worse for us than him.
