Loyalty matters

Kool was looking for a new gig every offseason since arriving. He didn’t like living in Miami. In the past we gave him extra $ and a title change. This time around CMR didn’t bother countering and said pack your bags.

Some of you guys are trying to do something in this thread, not quite sure what. Prove our coaches aren't loyal? Or **** on this thread because Brock started it?

So true Broke. I’ve been preaching this since Richt got here. He prefers the Honda over the Ferrari. That’s his style. We hate it until proven wrong because we want all Ferrari’s. Richt clearly approaches things as if he is going to coach here for a while. And if nothing else that should be comforting.

Civic or an accord?

Mark Richt was a great hire for many reasons but the most important one might be that he was established at Georgia. Lets face it, no one wanted a part of coaching here. Since Mark Richt earned repect elsewhere it was easier for him to assemble a competent staff

Rick never offered the job to KP.

Exactly. That would've leaked in about 3 seconds. And at minimum we would've heard he got a raise at NC State.

I'd never cast the scumbaggery shadow of St. Luigi of Columbus High over all former Canes now in the coaching profession but that whole debacle (along with a few others) should've taught a lot of people to stop automatically assigning virtuous professional character traits to some of these dudes just because they played here.

It can't be said enough -

when considering on-the-field performance and recruiting, Coach Ron Dugans has been the best hire.

Its true he did not like living in Miami at all but to say he was looking for a new gig every year is false. He woulda left to Jets/Saints last year if that was true.

Let’s just say he “entertained offers” and “listened intently” every offseason. CMR and others within the Athletic Department grew tired of the annual threat and told him to pack his bags.

This whole "living in Miami" shtick is tiresome. These clowns could very easily commute from Davie or The Redlands if the hilljack blood in their veins runs soooo strong.

As for Kewl specifically, he's from Michigan and played in Ohio. Bumfuk, Alabamy ain't exactly goin "home". Btw, his daughters seemed to be likin' the Miami lyfe just fine.

If a good ol' boy like Searels can last here then that whole "Miami isn't for everyone" narrative is over-hyped. Nobody forces any of these guys to live on South Beach or in Hialeah.

So Tool got offered the Saints and Jets DL coaching jobs and turned them down? I don't believe that for a second. He started interviewing for other jobs on his flight to Miami.

I wish Searels had taken the Auburn job.

Some of these dudes act like there are roosters running around in the streets everywhere in South Florida. If you're a redneck or a recluse or anything else, there's a place for you down here.

Idiots think you have three choices of neighborhoods: south beach, Liberty City, or Hialeah.
