Love Manny or hate Manny

Amen. And if he fails again this year, well, at least we'll know with 100% certainty he's not the guy.

Obviously the head coach bears ultimate responsibility for the on field product. But if we’re being completely objective I think most would agree that our kicker cost us 2-3 games last year. If that doesn’t happen, we’re all singing a much different tune right now.

Call me an optimist, call me a Manny Diaz fan boy, call me whatever you want.. but the from a CEO standpoint Manny has done a lot of things right. He’s shown the ability to diagnose and correct issues, the staff has out-recruited our on field product, and we’re positioned for success going into the 2020 season.

I wanted him gone after the way last season finished up. But I think he’s done nearly everything possible to prove he deserves this shot at rebuilding the program

It's a great scenario for Canes fans. We always have "talent or coaching " questions after poor seasons. It's tough to judge a coach in year 2 especially if he inherited a bad roster- then you have to wait another 2 years before you can make a relatively informed decision. Dabo and Eddy O showed the danger of pulling the trigger too earIy.

I can say with 100% certainty Miami has enough talent that not winning the ACC coastal and 10 games is absolutely inexcusable. It's not often that we will have all the proof we need to make a decision after just 2 years.

Worst defensive staff in P-5, 3 guys that would likely not be hired by another P-5 team at their position, if fired (Patke, Rumph, Baker)

Luckily, Miami plays real ****** offenses just about every game
Honest question..what u basing this off?..y’all said the same about searels, Thomas brown, carrol etc

Some people on here think our D may suffer bc of the tempo on O. I think the opposite. I think we’ll finally be able to pin ours ears back with a lead. This defense is not made to play from behind.

And that is why we won’t beat the big boys. Until we can play at an elite level against the Clemson’s of the world, we won’t be achieving much more than the Coastal. This Defense is statistically good but proven to be overrated whenever it plays anyone with a pulse. Losers hide behind those overrated statistics.

Don’t speak about our schedule like that. Anyone with a clue knows the mighty Coastal is filled with talented Offense’s.

How many teams in the country could play with Clemson? 10 maybe?

Defense has been a top 25 unit since Many got here. Last year we ranked 13th.

He seems like a stats nerd. I understand him not letting people go from a defense ranked 13th and never statistically been trash overall since he got here.

Our problem is that the offense cant find a way to put 28 points per game on the board since forever.

My only concern is Manny Diaz believes in his Defensive Philosophy so much he doesn't care about LB and CB recruiting. If he did he wouldn't be allowing Rumph to take guys who were WRs never playing CB ever... Yet Miami seems to love this method. Instead of going hard after Omarion Cooper this year, Asante Samuel Jr, Jaden Davis, Elam, Mullens, and the list goes on. Don't even get me started on LBs.

Manny Defense is good, but we meet Physical teams like Wisconsin we get gashed. Clemson QB Bryant looked like a Heisman Trophy winner against us years back.

Patke def needs to go, but yes Manny is making me somewhat happy.

A wise person told me "A hard head makes a soft a**". He needs to learn from his mistakes.

Hey, I agree with you, he's made all the right moves this offseason... But last season was a complete and total disaster on the field, and the kicker didn't cost us TWO games against Conference USA teams.

Jesus that kills me every time I think about it

We said this last year. The same “Portal Master” got us Tate Martell. The same “change maker” replaced Richt’s offense with Enos’ offense. This is the same school that already fired a coach and upgraded it with a DC that “gets the culture” while then firing HIM for an overrated HC that only could land a job at Temple! Tired of Ground Hog’s day in Coral Gables!
