Louisville

Is Miller Moss the best passing QB we will face this year? Perhaps. Should be a good test for our improved secondary.
He throws the ball a lot. That said he’s got a couple pick 6s and has been sacked 14x with 5 coming against UVA. Will be a good test for our defense. That said I don’t think he’s mobile and their OL I’m guessing ain’t great. Believe I counted 25-30 TFLs against. Our DL should feast.

Sort of expect Brohm to scheme up two scores against us based on previous matchups, but play a clean game and we wear them down over four quarters
Yeah but I think it’s clear at this point you can’t use the past to compare to this year’s defense. Completely different staff, system, and personnel that have played out of the eir minds this year. Not saying they won’t move the ball, but just can’t connect it to prior teams.

1. Another big WR in Chris Bell who is on a tear this season - 6’2 220 - I feel OK given how our CBs have performed

2. Isaac Brown tale of two levels of comp. First two games 230 yards on 18 carries and last two games 27 carries for 86 yards

3. They’ve been a penalized team - so it’s not clean averaging 75 penalty yards per game

4. Their defense giving up fewer yards per game than ours in the ACC
We’re going to eat that drop back QB alive.

We’ve played one ACC game and it happened to be against the one which averaged 600+ yards a game. Gave up around 240 thru 3 quarters. We’ll be fine. We dominate both lines of scrimmage.

I watched their game vs Virginia till mid-3Q. Our biggest advantage is our DL vs their OL. Virginia consistently got pressure. Moss tried to force it late multiple times. It ended in disaster or near-disaster. He will be forced into turnovers or to eat the ball.

Their defense might be good. Didn't see that much of them with the bizarre nature of their offense giving up two TDs to UVA's defense.

Brohm will probably scheme a quick hitting passing attack. I expect a lot of quick slants, bubble screens, hit the flats but very little down the field (sure 2-3 deep shots to Bell).

No. We may have already played the best QB we’ll face this year (Carr) but at a minimum Jennings is definitely a better passer than Moss too, and so is Bailey.

Moss is tied for 69th with the dude at Minnesota in Passing efficiency right now, one spot ahead of Drew Allar. I think He’s a significant downgrade from what they had last year in Tyler Shough

Which ACC game worries you the most?

For me, it’s either Louisville, SMU, or Pitt.

Feel better about Louisville now after I learned their QB is a statue. But I don’t underestimate Brohm. He’s one of the best offensive minds in the game.

SMU is our first road game where we leave the state of Florida.

Pitt always plays us tough at the end of the year. Their DL/LBs are pretty solid, and that freshman QB looked good this past weekend. Who knows what the weather is like, too.

I'm not overly concerned about SMU primarily due to their inability to deal with a physical defensive front (this goes back to Rhett as OC at Miami).

SMU's offense won't stress our defense as much as FAU's gimmicky offense did (stress in terms of eye discipline and reading keys).

Pitt at the end of the year seems problematic mostly due to the team keeping focus after a long season (7 straight games at that point) and looking forward to ACCCG and playoffs (the ultimate trap game).

Not either but if there’s one which will be a nail biter I believe this one has the potential.

They all feel pretty similar.

SMU is experiencing the G5 depth problem a year early now that the ex-Miami players have transferred.
My wife went to SMU and we live in Dallas. So far I’ve between to Baylor and TCU.
SMU just isn’t a P4 team yet. They can’t do anything between the tackles because they don’t have the bodies.

Lville doesn’t have an OL. But their WRs are elite. And the analytics seem to love their DEs.
There’s a world where they make enough big plays on the plays it isn’t a jailbreak to the QB, and their DL makes enough negative plays to stall drives.

Pitt has no OL either. But their offense is explosive and their defense creates havoc.

I’d put SMU at the least worrisome game because they don’t do anything at a level where you can even see a path for them making it a game.

The others I can at least see it, even I don’t think it’s going to happen.

Their defense is hot dog water. We will push them around and carve them up.

The correct answer is the next one. The only exception to the rule is maybe Stanford who is so unbelievably bad it is almost impossible to lose to them.

the same Pitt that lost to unranked Louisville and WEST VIRGINIA
