Loudest Moment/ or Game In UM History

Too many to count. In no particular order that I experienced.

Bandy pick 6
Hester return against UF
McGahee screen pass

I'm not going to argue any of these but I'm absolutely certain that I sustained some permanent hearing loss during the 2nd half of the Brock Berlin UiF game. That was the loudest prolonged noise level I can remember.

I wouldn't bet against it being topped in the current version of Hard Rock though.

Hester's go-ahead PR vs LOU in 04 had the OB rocking pretty good. The fact he had one called back earlier in the game because of a holding call on Ortega probably fueled the frenzy a bit. Could feel the OB swaying.

I was a ball boy for the Canes during that Carlos Jones pick-6.

That's Macho on the goal-line, on one knee, holding dem balls.

Loud ain't even the word!

This. I was in the WEZ. 12 years old. Still remember how loud that game was, let alone that play. Loudest moment ever for me. Video doesn’t give it justice.

No justice at ALL.....Place was already Frenzied because Kenard Lang Sacked Kanell on the previous play.....In 41yrs of Cane games (190)...and Dolphin games (in the #80s)...I NEVER heard a louder moment.....the second he crossed the GL....A Shockwave reverberated throughout the OB...

Most important play in UM history on many levels was the two point pass breakup in the final moments of the Nebraska first national championship game preserving the victory. That would be my choice for the loudest moment. The loudest game start to finish would be 89 ND.

Definitely my first thought...but the husker fans took away from the frenzy (I got a piece of turf!)

Unfortunately the loudest was the next year's Hail Flutie game. Bernie, Flutie, Bernie, Flute back and forth TD drives. It was so crowded that they let us into the standing room of the student section and you could see the players right in the eyes. Every time Flute came back to the line the stadium was sonic chaos. Couldn't see the cursed completion but the noise change cannot be forgotten.

There must have been five defenders around Phelan. It was right in his handsI don't think the Miami guys even knew he was behind them. I took my teenage daughter who bailed on me and went berserk when Flutie completed the pass. I still let her know what I think.

TRUE STORY:

Back then the home team provided the ball boys...and we were in charge of both team's game balls. (one with a UM stamp, one with the visiting team's stamp)

The refs would tell us before every game..."Whatever team is on offense, keep their ball in your throwing hand so you'll be ready to toss it to us after every play."

Well when the visiting team was on offense I used to get down on one knee with the Cane's ball in my left hand/arm and the visiting team's ball on the ground. (as if I was using it to hold myself up)
Meanwhile I would be rubbing the laces in the grass/dirt. (hard for a QB to throw the ball when there's grass/dirt in the laces)

I did this very same thing moments before the Carlos Jones pick-6 and as a young boy I convinced myself that I had something to do with it.
(in actuality it was just a bad throw) I still like to take credit for it though.

Probably why teams bring their own ball boys now. LOL

Can't agree the pass breakup was the loudest. More than half that stadium was decked out in red.

That was more of an exhausted exhale moment for me.

Devin Hester was a ground shaking explosion of noise, it was incredible.

Overall this year's Irish game will be hard to top. My ears were still ringing the next morning.

PS

WTF happened to Carlos Jones? He went from being one of the best CBs in the nation, playing on the #1 defense in the nation in '94, to barely playing in '96.

Macho....Crazy thing is....If Kanells pass was a little higher....he hits his WR streaking down sidelines....

2003 Gators....the opening kickoff was like an explosion and during the comeback, place got incredible loud as well.....since we were getting our asses kicked for 21/2 quarters you couldn't say it was the loudest game wire to wire, but for both the beginning and end of a game, it was the loudest game anywhere that I've ever been to.

Game - 89 ND
Moment - the entire SoFla CanesFam lost it for the 1st title. We all shook the OB from every part of the 305-954-561

In the top 20 - Ohio State in 2010 with our kick returns as our Offense (Benjamin and Miller). Defense stepped up big in that game too.
