Loose lips sink ships... and hopefully not critical "deals"...

Yeah, sorry another thread, but the sh*tshow at Miami that got us here is worthy of a targeted discussion.

From Mario's perspective: OK, we (agent, fam, etc) like it and we can sign Monday, and announced after i tell team (Mon/Tues?), presser on Wed. Cool, ok? From Cribby and other stuff, this seems pretty clear, as well as Knight n "O" getting ****ed Mario doesn't accept extension.

So Miami brass knows he's coming, per the plan/deal, and need to keep their lips tight.

But no... they gotta tell this and that blabbermouth, so all over there is "reliable source says its a done deal". Mario must be fuming, rightly so, wondering if the Miami brass is a bunch o' idiots. Let's hope it doesn't cause him to renege!!!

So now I need to block off Wednesday? Got it. So far the 1st, no. Saturday, no. Sunday, no. Monday, apparently not.

They're actually going with "Loose Tweets Sink Fleets" now. Just saying.

Social Media once again to **** up a good thing....

I tell my kids all the time, college, and even high school is so much more fun when you can talk about the weekend, the next week...not today. There's usually a script written by Monday morning with well detailed editorials, and photos, videos, posts, completely laying out the series of events.

It ******* ridiculous

If Cristobal wants Miami then sign the **** paper and stop worry bout perception and everybody feelings. If this is your dream job and your career ambition and we paying competitively then what's the hold up. He can tell his players after the pen meets the paper. He is controlling the narrative which is making Miami look bad. We came with a deal. He either wants it or doesn't. Don't string it out. How the **** you need time to think about your dream job as a 50 something year old grown *** man. Give him time noon then calling Lane to see if he ready to rock and roll. We got coordinators we need to hire and recruits we need to get!!

If Mario doesn’t take the job it will be because he doesn’t want it.

A point made by @JayCane20 is significant in that there’s no AD in place to help guide the process of hiring a HC and Frenk and his advisors are basically rookies when it comes to these issues. That being said, the most glaring issues have been the leaks from certain BOT members and the idiotic press trying their best to scoop a story.

The people conducting the search, French and Co. haven’t said anything of note. As it should be. Some members of the BOT that were left out of the search, and staff in the Hecht bldg, sympathetic to Manny have been talking to the media and to anyone that will listen about what they suppose they know to advance their agendas, IMO. But, who on the search committee has spoken publicly? Just sayin’

They know how search committees work, they’ve hired administrators, professionals, even coaches. They also know how to solicit advice from the companies that do the searches. Some of that cost the money, and some is free, they have used some of the companies they interviewed for this search in the past. Not exactly rookies. The BOT, that’s another issue.

Agree that they’ve conducted searches for other positions especially in admin and other professionals. But hiring a head football coach is obviously a different animal.
