Looks like we will get our 2020 schedule...

The article essentially confirms: (1) geographical location and proximity to opponents is a main consideration for the new schedule; (2) there will be no divisions; (3) ND gets to play for the ACC championship; and (4) the best two teams will play for the championship no matter prior division affiliation.

I don’t understand why the conference is bending over for Notre Dame. This is the perfect opportunity to strong arm them into joining football 100% moving forward or leave them in the cold. Is there that significant of a financial gain having them full time for 1 year?

This is a total joke. Allowing Notre Dame to have a chance to play for the conference title is like a dude that allows a chick to hang out with him on Tuesday's- as long as he pays for everything and doesn't try to touch her.
I think a stipulation to this that we’ll find out later down the road that Notre Dame is joining the ACC in football. There is no way the ACC doesn’t use any leverage to force that move. I just think Notre Dame will announce it on their own terms.

Agreed

No divisions is awesome. Hope all conferences adopt this permanently going forward.
Divisions truly are dumb as ****.

When college football inevitably moves to an 8-team playoff that rewards automatic bids to each Power 5 champion, divisions better be gone. If not, you run the risk of a 3 or 4 loss division champion playing the game of their life in a conference championship matchup and somehow making it into the playoff.

Agreed.

Here’s how they should do it this year:

10 conference games, plus 1 OOC game

No divisions.

So you have an 11 game regular season, with 1 bye week.

No divisions, top 4 in the conference make the “playoffs”

Game 12 would be 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 at the site of the higher seed.

Game 13 is ACC championship in Charlotte as usual.

Perfection.

Worse than that.

She not only makes him pay, but makes him towel of the guy doing her.

This is a complete joke.

The ACC acting like a $10 *****.

This would’ve been a good opportunity to leverage Notre Dame into maybe being a lot more of a participative member, but no, we just hiked up our skirts and gave it away

What's unclear is whether the 8 or 10-game conference schedule consists of 4/5 opponents with home-and-home games or do they play 8/10 ACC teams...probably limited opponents that you play twice during the year but it would be awesome to play nearly all of the ACC teams in one year.
